Because when you suck, continually, and show zero improvement, can't make the tourneyvwith the top NBA pick, and follow that up with one of the worst seasons in history, and your team shows no signs of improvement or fire or coaching.....
You get fired immediately! There is ZERO reasons to retain. It shows recruits you aren't serious about the program.
Name one reason why a great player would sign here now if Jones isn't canned ASAP

I'm sure it is, but the situation is different. This BB team was going nowhere this year. The FT still went to a bowl.
LSU BB will have a winning season next year with a new coach.

The difference is that Miles would have probably finished the season with the same record as CEO and we would have been in a quandary yet again on why to fire a winning coach. This is not the case with JJ. You think the locker room is bad now. Take these kids mentor and teacher (albeit a bad one) away from them and you do them no favors.
