His record is just ok
LSU struggled with the slow stuff but without a dominant fastball into the 90's I don't think he would hold up against SEC schedule.

He threw a great game yesterday, probably should have walked Bregman and it might have been a different game but he had success against him the whole game. Made only one bad pitch against scivique and he paid for it

would easily take him over the gimmicky side-armer Strall

He's a gimmicky left hander, really not much different. Strall was a late add as well, and a JUCO, not a freshman.

I'm willing to bet if Latz didn't get hurt he'd be a day 3 starter for us and we'd have a pretty dominant 3 day starter set.

The Leger kid made good pitches in critical situations. Kept LSU off balance and really pitched well. As far as why he's not at LSU, maybe they signed too many other quality pitchers to fit him in. Barbe and St. Thomas More in Lafayette have 2 of the best baseball programs in the state and to have success at those schools says a lot about the talent level of the player. Besides UL has a very good program and they gave LSU 2 very competitive games. Go Tigers!!

Roster limits
Tough decisions have to be made
Can't sign everyone anymore like Skip did and had them compete

This plus Robichaux is an outstanding pitching coach. LSU made a run at him for that position. One of the best in the country.

Only pitcher on their staff I'd even consider over someone from that group would have been their closer, Dylan Moore. Would be nice to see this team w/ a more consistent closer than what he have been throwing out there.

For one thing he went to ull for the chance to hit and pitch. Next he made huge velocity improvements during his sr year and was really not on anyone's radar during his jr year when he topped out around 82. And he wasn't the best lefty on Barbes team last year. He was a great kid with great work ethic but you can't offer everyone

11.7 schollies per program. prioritizing signing classes is damn critical over the long haul.

this limit tends to spread the talent around as kids (and their parents) want a scholarship if possible.

I used to hate this limit. now that's it's been around awhile I have come to like it. it has enabled smaller schools to excel in baseball that would not happen if all of the talent is sitting on the bench at State U. and these kids are PLAYING ball, not bench warming so it greatly enriches their lives and gives them great life lessons and stories to tell their buds and grandchildren one day.

We offered. ULL offered more, with an opportunity to contribute sooner.

Not sure of his record as this is the first time I have watched Leger. He is a good pitcher who should have good success at ULL. There have obviously been other pitchers who turned out to be great pitchers who did not go to LSU who played at schools in Louisiana other than LSU. ULM had Ben Sheets and Chuck Finley. ULL had Ron Guidry. Leger is good but not in same class as those pitchers and those that LSU signs yearly. But to insinuate that ULL's program is equal to LSU shows a complete ignorance and misunderstanding of both schools programs. Really not even worth replying to.

Seriously hope that douche blows out his arm. Cost us another prospect - no team should draft his ball-less arse.

Haha It's funny how some of these people think they know it all. However, your statement TigerAlum93 was the right one. Leger would have been a valuable asset to LSU. He also would have been in the top 3 rotation.
