Why didn't LSU have to kick the extra point at Game End?

If blocked Tennessee could have ran it back for 2 points and tied the game. Not that I wanted that game to go on any longer. But rules are rules.

Good question. The officials still talked it over a while before officially announcing the end of the game.

On TV they were saying that LSU DID have to kick, then they said that the officials decided that they didn't have to...probably because UT left the field.

Franking, JJ(Josh Jasper) doesn't miss...I believe he's perfect in PATs.

The ball was placed on the 2. Everyone just ran to the locker room.

If you win on an untimed play there is no need to kick, just like overtime

We would have never kicked it. The smart coaching decision would have been just to take a knee. Oh wait...

I've seen where the officials make the teams come back on the field. I bet they catch some grief over this.

Because all we had to do was kneel it so Tennessee just left the field rather than go through the motions. Obviously they underestimated the amount of stupid on our sidelines.

They were supposed to have a PAT attempt but Tenn declined to come out. And they should have kneeled it if they had to try

I seriously think we would have lined up for the 2 pt. conversion and just took a knee. Although you never know with this staff.

game ended on def penalty. LSU would have had the opportunity if needed. Otherwise they would have just take a knee. But with Miles, who knows. They may have tried a half back pass with russell shepperd.

In college, referee's discretion.

In pro, you have to kick, many believe because of gambling and all the lines that are set

Untrue.

Team scores in OT, there is never a PAT.

No they don't have to kick the ball! Who in their right mind would attemp an extra point with no time on the clock and up by two?

Even if they had to play they could still just knee the ball!

And no the NFL does not make them kick extra points at the end of the game either.
