I know there is pressure to contend at Lsu but all ppl in the media can talk about is how Lsu wants Saban like success.. I just think it's about offensive product and miles unwillingness to change the offense. If our next coach wins 77% of games and puts a good offensive product on the field and contends every few years winking a few sec titles and a playoff run here and there I think he will be fine. They are spinning it that if Lsu doesn't win titles every year the coach is gone. I don't believe that for a sec. Miles was the longest tenured coach in sec. We will stick with our coach

Lsu games had become unwatchable under Miles even by the most die hard fans.

Well that's somewhat true.

You can thank Nebraska for that. After all they fired a coach who had a nine win season but because he took osbournes place he didn't replicate the same success so he was canned. That program hasn't been the same since.

I don't want that to happen with lsu

The media is just a bunch of Hypocrite jackasses. One second they say we need Les gone asap and once he is fired they say LSU is wrong for what we did. You are right, a fan base should not expect a championship every year but the lack of development of top recruits and the god awful 1980's offense had to go. LSU fans were tired of seeing the same stuff and something had to be done.

Watch it now... We had Hodson and Risher in the 80's.

They're just mad that there wasn't a "ride off into the sunset" storyline and they didn't get a chance to put together montages about Les's farewell for ratings. The firing blindsided all of them.

Agree 100%, I care more about enjoying the game and when LSU had 3rd and long in their own 20 I just switched the channel and waited for the next series.

The national guys are a joke. Two weeks ago they were criticizing LSUs offense now they don't understand why they fired miles. It's so fricking dumb.

The national media is clueless about LSU football. Every a-hole has an opinion and doesn't know what they're talking about. Our games are unwatchable and Miles did not produce with the talent he brought in. It's as simple as that. NFLcoaches are fired all the time for this. Time to move on.

I accidentally dv meant to uv. Sorry.. U are exactly right. I was so sick of the same bs. Miles didn't adjust to his personell and Kept trying to win the same old way. He used to win playing big time D and flipping fields with great ST's. We got the defense back but the ST's hasnt been there. Like the auburn game if it had been 7 years ago we wouldve pinned that auburn team back inside 20 a lot and kicked 2-3 more fg's to win that game but instead we punted 30'yards and they would make a few first downs and kick 3. and Missed a fg. I supported miles loved the man he'll look at my screen name but I was relieved when aleva made the change.

It's what happens when you have a coach that is good to the media. If Les was an a-hole, the media would have been calling for his job two years ago.

Because it gives them more to talk about.

Nah let's not kid ourselves. The offensive clusterfrick is a problem because it hinders the results. The results are a problem for two reasons.

A) Saban set the table and Miles maintained a standard of excellence that he has since failed to reach for 4+ years.

B) Meanwhile, Alabama is piling up NCs.

Saban's success at Alabama has ALOT to do with the unhappiness among the fan base. There is no reason to deny it. However, we shouldn't apologize for it either. There are few, if any, resources available to Saban/Alabama that are unavailable at LSU. LSU is capable of that kind of high level and long sustaining success with the right coach.

If Miles had the program where he brought it and kept it for the first 3 years and again in 2011, then Saban's success at Alabama wouldn't be as big of a deal. However, when Miles is falling below his own standards AND Alabama is continuing to dominate, it is too much.

Maybe, but if I recall there were quite a few national people who were displeased with the Pelini firing at Nebraska, and he wasn't exactly a friend of the media.

I GUARANTEE the '86 and '87 offenses were much more explosive and balanced than the train wreck we've been seeing under Leslie.

Miles got fired for one reason and one reason only: he did not make the changes necessary to improve the product on the field.

LSU recruits NFL-caliber players, but puts a high school level offense on the field. Recruiting is great, but if you don't know how to put those players in position to succeed, then you're going to get canned.

You think the Gumps would be putting up with Saban's arse if his perennial top 3 recruiting classes were putting up LSU win-loss totals?

Miles simply could not live up to the expectations he created by recruiting so well.

It's like a guy who has Lamborghini's in his garage but never lets them out of 2nd gear.

ignore all the pundits. They don't know any more than you do, and probably a lot less. They're not worth your time and energy.

this is the same media that

a. at the end of last season basically pressured the spineless LSU administration to keep Les Miles after the man had publicly been fired. It was over then, but the national media couldn't believe he could have been fired.

b. 8 months later the national media leads the charge to get rid of him. "WHo gets fired after this game" bs etc. shite like that affects both players and coaches, they are human.

So in reality the national media is fricking worthless. Normal news wise they have become worthless and sports media is nothing but bullshite spewed to "get noticed".
