Currently sitting at 17-6, 6-4 SEC...we have a pretty bad 49 RPI. If we lose to UK, we pretty much have to play perfect basketball to finish up the season minus maybe 1 more loss, we cant finish worse than 12-6 IMO in the conference. The bad losses are REALLY hurting us in the RPI. If we beat UK, it gives us a little wiggle room to finish out because it will be a massive RPI increase. If we beat UK and Arky, it gives a LOT of wiggle room, because our RPI will not be very low (unless we lose 3+ games outside of beating those 2).

NO, we get in whether we beat them or not. We won't beat them anyway so it's a moot point.

I had hope we would make NCAA...just don't see it at this point. This team is too marginal. Hope I'm wrong.

This team will never play "perfect" basketball more than 1 game at a time. They've yet to play anything close to perfect. They'll have to to have any chance Tuesday. Anything is possible.

We most definitely wont get in if we lose to them and lose like 3 more in SEC play, I can 100% guarantee you that

I haven't seen anything from this team that would lead me to believe that they can beat Kentucky.....yet.

Fwiw the few bracketoligist I've actually looked at had us getting in at 10-8 in sec play. But a lot would have to go our way I think.

The only way we get in at 10-8 is if we beat UK, Arky and practically win the SECT.

I think if we lose to UK no harm done. But if we go and beat Ole miss again and A&M that would add 2 more top 40 rpi wins to our resume. Ole miss having the potential to be a top 30 rpi team. That would give us 2 road wins against top 30 rpi teams and a home win against UGA who is 21 rpi right now I think. Our RPI could be low 40s going 10-8. But avoiding the road loss to auburn would be the key.

If this is confusing I'm sorry.

I agree Pnels, losing to Kentucky we can still get in at 11-7 but I think you're right, A&M and Ole Miss will have to be two of those 11 wins.

And we'd have to go 5-2 after Kentucky which given our habit of shitting the bed against inferior teams is a lot to ask.

But I did see some small progress yesterday in things that we'd shown none in all year. So I'll keep open a small window of hope.

you should open that window. It's still all wide open. We just have to go through the window. But to say we HAVE to beat Kentucky to get in is ridiculous.

I want to willie. It's just that we have to sustain a consistency we really haven't all year.

Not saying we can't, but until I see it done, skepticism still creeps in.

Losing to kentucky wont hurt us at all. Winning would be huge though. Sure we have a couple horrible losses but arent we also undefeated agsinst teams in the top 40 rpi?

Hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see how this team, playing the way it is, is going to beat Kentucky.

4-2 vs top 50
7-3 vs top 100

3-1 against top 40. A&M @ 35

Right now that game appears to be an outlier, and WVU is no Kentucky. It is the best win on the resume.

We have beat the best teams we have played. 4 of our 6 loses are to teams we should beat 9/10 times. When the effort is their this team is dangerously good.
