Why are we still trying to be a power running team?

I hear this constantly pushed from orgeron. Why are we still trying to do the same shite that got miles ran off?

Because our qb is super average and our personnel is best fit for a power running scheme.

I've watched all four games and seen very few power run plays. The vast majority are finesse runs that rely on confusion and misdirection.

If we were running toss dives out of the I, our longest run through 4 games would be more than 25 yards.

LSU does and pretty much has always used the run to set up the passing game.
Miles just over used the run ..he was "coach schembechler" who believed that only 3 things could happen when you pass, and 2 are bad (borrowed the Darrell Royal philosophy)

I do not think this is the case w Canada ... he will still use the run .. but to create passing opportunities

I honestly think our current run scheme would work well if our offensive line could execute it. They just miss too many assignments for it to gain any traction

yep .. you can not pass if the line can not protect and provide some time .. ask Archie Manning

All good teams need to be able to run the ball. I don't mind keeping a physical team

We are utilizing a zone blocking scheme now, not a power scheme (though we do run a few, not many power run plays).

Think the Denver Broncos running scheme when they had all those no-name running backs putting up ridiculous yards for a few years.

I'm trying to think when we've tried to power run this year, any help as to when we tried? I'm drawing a blank.

Every press conference I've see O gets up there and talks about being 50/50 balance and being a power running team.

Some of those coaches can't count. What are the 3 things that can happen when you pass and which 2 are bad?

This is how I see it:

Good
1. Completion for positive yardage
2. Completion for 1st down.
3. Completion for touchdown
4. Stop the clock when needed
5. Defensive Penalty

Bad:
1. Interception
2. Sack
3. Incomplete pass only on 3rd or 4th down.
4. Pick six
5. Offensive Penalty

What am I missing?

Hey look, I don't think we are doing that great in the run department. I'm just repeating what orgeron keeps saying

There is nothing inherently wrong with being a power running team if you can also pass the ball consistently.
