I of course have no statistical poll to back up this contention but my gut tells me that 75% of college football fans will want LSU to win.

A few reasons:

- LSU has no true archrival
- LSU has Les Miles
- Alabama has Nick Saban
- Alabama has had great historical success, which breeds contempt, but many attribute that to a storied history of big time cheating, which breeds even more contempt

This is pretty much the only reason America will have a favorite. They love seeing our goofy coach win games. The rest of the time they'll just be pulling for this to be the game of the decade like it's supposed to be.

With the way the media keeps doubting us week in and week out - I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the nation isn't sold on us either and will believe that Bama will beat us.

I doubt anyone outside the SEC will bother to pull for one vs the other.

That's just silly. I was pulling for Michigan State over Wisconsin, Texas Tech over Oklahoma, etc. I think most viewers usually have a favorite in any particular game.

I generally don't unless it benefits LSU for a specific team to win or lose. In your two examples those undefeated teames getting beaten was in our interest.

Outside the south, I guess LSU but I really don't know. The Northern half of this country would rather watch the Cardinals or their respective NFL teams play than watch college football. They probably couldn't name who are coach is.

Within the South, I'm hearing a lot of support for Bama, but I'm from there so...

I believe the nation will pull for the team that gives a non-SEC team the best chance to win the NCG. That being said, I believe the nation will go for LSU, especially since they are away from home, and we always have trouble with Arky...

I can't speak for the rest of the nation, but myself I hope yall shut them out and hang 50 on them. I'm so sick of hearing so many Gumps say they are the best team in the nation. Even when its apparent that all the polls say they're #2. So please do the world a favor and shut those fawkers up! It can be yalls retribution to us for the arse raping we took Saturday

I hate auburn with a passion, and I absolutely loved the beatdown they got yesterday, but I know the war eagle tiger nation will be behind us Nov 5th which I appreciate. We won't disappoint. I have family that goes to or went to auburn and I fully appreciate the hate that yall have for the gumps

Something about using the word whom and ending the sentence with a preposition upsets me.

It's as if you tried to sound a proper but still messed it up.

I can see a lot of people pulling against LSU because of how "lucky" they are. Other schools constantly bitch about how luck Les is and how everything just goes their way. Garbage arse reasoning but those will want LSU to lose. Not necessarily pro-Bama, just anti-LSU

I would assume more people would pull for LSU. Not because they like LSU more, but because they hate Alabama more.

I would imagine Alabama is more hated in the football world than LSU is... therefore more people would pull for LSU by default.

That is just my guess.

Most people outside of the SEC want the field to open up and swallow both teams. They are sick of seeing another SEC team win the national championship.

LSU/Bama vs the remaining pool of Clemson, OSU/KSU, Stanford, and BSU wouldn't even be close.

I will guess that a lot of people will dislike LSU because of the problems we have had this season off-the-field.

I think the behaviors that caused the suspensions hurt our national image. Had they not occurred I would have said LSU hands down.
