I think it was supposed to be Kentucky.

So, why did we have to keep South Carolina instead of Kentucky?

Im pretty sure that La Birdman is correct. It would have been the return trip to Kentucky this year since we played them in Tiger Stadium last year.

South Carolina would be in our rotation since we would have finished our Tenn rotation last year having played them in Knoxville that year and of couse having played them the year before in Baton Rouge.

But why not drop South Carolina instead of Kentucky if they were both on the rotation?

Right after Obama shut down our offshore drilling, he altered LSU's schedule to make it "fairer" for Alabama.
This was when he looked at our crystal balls and said, "You didnt win that!"

I might be wrong and Im just trying to think back over the years of Bama's schedule because I know they played Florida last year and it seems like VAndy and I know that South Carolina beat them a couple of years ago, so Im pretty sure it would have been Georgia is who they would have played this year in tuscaloosa. I could be wrong but Im going with Georgia.

Tennessee would have rotated off of LSU's schedule for South Carolina; Kentucky would have stayed on. Instead, Kentucky disappears, but South Carolina stays.

Florida would have rotated off of Alabama's schedule for Georgia; Vanderbilt would have stayed on. Instead, both games disappear and a game with Missouri appears.

I think I know what you are getting at there Rex and certainly can agree with you. We definitely received the short end of the scheduling having to play South Carolina instead of Kentucky. On the other hand , Bama picks up newcomer Missouri.

I'm just guessing that it's because we played kentucky last year. We didn't play South Carolina so that is probably why. They just knocked the team off that we actually played last year.

Before A&M entered the league, LSU was scheduled to play SC at home and UK on the road. One of those games had to go, of course. A&M had to be added to the schedule one way or the other...either at home or on the road. If A&M had been a home game this year, LSU would have had to go on the road for both Eastern Division games (UK and UF) and would have had 4 West Division games at home and only 2 West Division games on the road.

The way it worked out balanced the schedule. By swapping a road game with Kentucky for a road game with A&M, LSU played one East team at home and one East team away...and played 3 West teams at home and 3 West teams away.

Yeah it would have been nice not to lose UK from the schedule this year....but can you imagine having to play 4 West teams on the road next year???(Alabama, A&M, MSU, and Ole Miss)?

I like rotating A&M and Alabama home/away each year...it guarantees that one or the other will be on the home schedule each year.
