MVP=Most Valuable Person

I'm going with Alan Dunn.

He's the single biggest reason behind LSU reversing the 1-run game W/L's from last year. Steadied and developed the pitching staff from starters through middle relievers and closers.

I wouldn't go quite that far, but I agree he's made a huge impact on all the pitchers.

I'm going to limit my answer to players becuase if you are going to go Dunn then Maineri has to get a consideration for hiring Dunn.

At this very moment it would be hard to not say Austin Nola.....but for the body of work you can't discount what Raph has done.

I would have to go rhymes. With how much we struggle to get runs, he has been huge as far as getting timely hits and allowing Katz to see better pitches.

Rhymes is only responsible for 3 more RBI's then Katz all season.

I'm gonna go contraflow and say Ross. His improvement from last year both offensively and defensively has been tremendous.

I love Katz and have been giving him props a lot lately but Katz would not see near the quality of pitches if Rhymes was not hitting behind him.

I agree that Rhymes helps Katz get good pitches, but at the same time other teams know that most of the time if Rhymes does hit it's no different then walking him. That's why they pitch to him and he hardly ever gets walked.

True. I love Rhymes, but he's pretty much a singles machine.

I'd still take Dunn coming in as pitching coach as the biggest difference between this year and last. Yes, Rhymes is hitting close to .500 this year, but last year we had Mahtook.

Pitching, and in particular relief pitching, has been a big boost. I can only recall two blown saves in SEC play (Bourgeous at UK and Goody vs Vandy).

I think you can't overlook this....he has kept the offense from completely running of the tracks at the very backend of the season when Rhymes has cooled way down.

Gausman

This guy on the mound on Fridays has been an intimidating force for opponents. Take those 101 innings of work, and give them to another pitcher on the staff. You'll see that there's no way LSU wins the SEC without him. While Rhymes, Katz and Nola have been fantastic, I think the loss of Gausman would have a worse impact.

Gausman, I feel like we are almost guaranteed a win with him pitching.
