Walker Buehler...a first round draft pick ..won't matter if hitting doesn't come around

It will definitely be a pitcher's duel tomorrow at 2 if Vandy does lose this morning.

Won't they use their #2 pitcher today to finish the game against CSF?

yeah, it just seems like a parade of first round draft picks on the mound for them every year. I know that's an exaggeration but, it seems like it sometimes.

It'd be unwise to burn your #2 pitcher in a game in which you're down 4-0. I hope they're unwise.

Buehler is obviously their #2, but hasn't he been throwing the third game the last few weeks?

Yeah, from what I've seen, Pfeifer has been their Game 2 starter. If Fullerton holds on, we could see either Buehler or Pfeifer.

Peterson said on the CSF-VU telecast yesterday that Pfeifer is Vandy's No. 2, not Buehler.

And the stat line for Pfeifer is more impressive than Burhler's to me.

100 Ks in 80 innings, lower batting average against and only 5 homers allowed.

His ERA is slightly over 4.00, but I bet it is due to having a lower than average strand rate.

The walks do seem to be a problem for Pfeifer -- over 40 -- so LSU will need to get on base and capitalize on Pfeifer pitching from the stretch.
