Ask yourselves this question...How many people knew Les Miles existed prior to him coming to LSU? What has his tenure at LSU done for his status within the world of college football? Have you EVER felt that he was capable of CONSISTENTLY out-coaching his peers? 21-0 taught me that the man will put his ego before the team. I don't need any explanation for what happened that miserable fricking night. I had 5 non-LSU friends at my house to help me see it for what it was.

He didn't pick-up his goofball habits overnight but did anyone recall laughing at the coach from Ok State? Nope...because no one gave a frick about Les and Ok State. LSU made Les. He walked into a loaded team and won lot's of games.

I'm writing this for all of the LSU fans that are on the edge of the cliff and will jump if he leaves. If Les leaves LSU, he's even dumber than I thought. He may never have the talent that he has right now at LSU. UM is way behind LSU on talent and if their W/L will be based on his coaching ability...UM is in trouble. He can recruit well but he isn't Nick Saban.

For everyone who's thinking that we can't possibly find a better coach...get real? I think Hudspeth is a better coach. The bigger issue is the short term damage that Les would do to recruiting and the assistant staff.

I like Les but I'm really mixed on whether I want him to stay or not. Do I think that he can match wits or desire with Saban...NO. If our new standard is National Championships, maybe we would be better off if he leaves. Either way, the guy will do whatever he wants and distorting reality only confuses poor Les.

LSU should have the leverage and we shouldn't give him a raise or extension. If we do, the response against Aleva will be significant. Les needs to make a decision..and quickly if he cares about LSU at all.

Very Well said.

You have to appreciate Roosevelt's comments that "the only thing to fear is fear itself", it is so thick you can cut it with a knife.

My advice for those who are afraid of Miles leaving: Change your tampon.

OK...WTF has Les done to convince you that he is a better COACH? The offense that he designed and is known for? Um..nope. His awesome defensive mind? Um...that would be another NO.

Give me some of these examples of why you are so convinced that Les is a better coach. I'd bet that a shitload of coaches could win a bunch of games with the talent that Les has had. You really want to argue that? How many players does LSU have in the NFL again? And ULL?

Ask yourself this question. Could Les win the number of games that Hudspeth has won with his talent. frick no.

Les may very well frick himself and this team (by leaving) but lets not be a bunch of pussies about it. I like Les as a person but I wouldn't argue about him being a better coach than just about anyone out there. Good man yes...good coach... frick no. That's just me being real.

I agree and we need to be better than that. Les will do what Les wants to do. Begging only makes us look stupid for overlooking his obvious faults. I appreciate the wins and the way that he's represented LSU.

I won't overlook his numerous coaching blunders and I refuse to believe that LSU is done without him.

Real stupid.

No one has ever said anyone has to like the style that Les Miles has brought to LSU's play over the years. Frankly...the offensive woes have grown bothersome to even me.

But the minute you suggest the man that has been at the helm for the longest most sustained stretch of winning in the history of the program is not a good coach is the day you ought to be shown the door by any reasonable fan, because it either means you're a moron or that you have an agenda that is not in line with LSU's.

You won't be, obviously, because the fan base is now made up of whiny children who suggest the best we've ever had it has not been good enough, but that doesn't make any of you right.

It just makes you louder.

LOL, we were top 5 in ticket sales last year. You negatigers should stop supporting the program if you want something to change.

Can't agree more. You will hear silly comments from folks that feel we should simply shell out more money and extensions for a coach that is treated extremely well at LSU, both financially and in every other way. He gets great financial support for his assistants as well.

We all have trepidation because change is uncertain. The irony is those who feel we crash and burn if Mikes leaves probably felt the same when Saban left. We are LSU and we will survive. lSU is bigger than any one coach or player.

WTF? Les is the boss, he hired the coaches and recruited the players. If any of you actually followed recruiting, youd know that recruiting isnt that easy. You think all these NFL players were just ready at the ripe age of 17-18 to play in the nfl? Not a single one of them improved?

This is why i hate our fan base. Bunch of fricking morons.

1. He is recruiting for LSU currently, and has told every recruit he is staying

2. It would be a very dumb move for Les to leave. I think everyone outside of Ann Arbor knows that including Les.

3. Name 1 coach that matches wits and desire with Nick Saban. It sucks but there is a reason he is the best coach in the country. But he is beatable. It just isn't east.

You are dumb.

You do realize that not only is Les Miles the most successful coach in the history of LSU football, he is the most popular. You are too influenced by message board morons who think they know something about football.

The odds are overwhelming that the next LSU coach will not be as successful as the current one no matter who it is.

Les Miles got a raise for winning the sec and bcs title game. his next raise came after winning the sec and making the title game. Usually thats what happens when coaches win championships. they get raises.

The program isnt going to fall off without Les. But the wrong hire could set us back a few years. With coaching changes becomes uncertainty in recruiting, the life blood of any program. We just pulled in one of the best classes on paper in the history of the program. Im not ready to blow the whole damn thing up. Weve seen this before, 09 class gets help from 10 and 11. And guess what? the best team in LSU history happened.
