I know this is a bit early, but we have tix to the Ole Piss game. I need a heads up on what to expect. Tail gate, traditions, when to be where...
I'll hang up now and just listen.

Dressed up rednecks eating walmart food trays on china. Drink your beer in cups and Stay in Tunica. Grove is vastly overrated.

We went once in 2000. We stayed at the casino in Tunica...didn't tailgate much before the game, which was at night. I remember it being cold and my buddy (Jose Verges, not his real name) got his flask confiscated as he tried to enter the stadium.

Tailgating with linen and silverware, hearing "Hotty Toddy" so much it makes you want to puncture your eardrums, laughable pretentiousness, delusion, penis envy, and some pretty hot women.

Everything is pretty much centered around the Grove. Make sure your drink/beer is in a cup. I have seen cops make 50 year old men pour out a case of beer bc they were walking around with cans.

It's not that big of a campus. You will be completely underwhelmed by The Grove. Just hang out around it though because that is literally where all of the action is. Get the BBQ nachos in the stadium. That's all I got. I've been once and have no desire to ever go back.

Good call, Chicken. They will definitely not think twice about patting your arse down before you enter the stadium if you're an LSU fan.

we went in 2007 (I think). Fun trip. Expect lots of hatred from Ole Miss fans. We tailgated all day. Got yelled at alot! It was funny. Pretty campus and cool seeing The Grove, but really nothing special over there though.

I'm from Mississippi and I have little good to say about Oxford. I have friends from home who went to Ole Miss, and I like them and their families, but other than that the experiences when I went there for games were not good. Expect things to be thrown at you.

As far as tailgating, have ice because they don't sell cold beer. If you want to blend in with the culture, dress up, but only if you really want to. Everyone else is right about stuff centering around the grove; I would try to get with another LSU tailgate or two and maximize your tailgating space.

No drinks in your hand that are not in a cup. If you have to pour a drink keep it out of sight of cops and security. They will take it and dump it in front of you. No open flames or power allowed on the grove. Get ready for chandeliers and silver trays serving finger sandwiches.

couldn't have said it better. i lived there for 5 years (work related) and their hate for LSU is unparelleled. it truly is a nice town filled with a-holes with a elitist mentality. plus it closes down at midnight. the grove is a joke: crowded and pathetic with no open flames i.e. no good food. The band comes and plays Dixie there which is pretty cool but the ""Walk of Champions is lame. I'm going too but I'm staying in Memphis

oh yeah...be very careful there with campus security and drinking. the cops there are the gestapo. must get corky's bbq nachoes in stadium and prepare a bunch of "go to hell lsu" chants in your face.

Only good thing about Ole Piss are the women (some of them, not the drunk old ones screaming Hotty Toddy thinking it's still the 1970s.) Other than that, expect a bunch of dudes in Ole Piss polos with Justin Beiber haircuts. Expect ZERO drinking games because the grove is literally one of the worst places to tailgate.

I just don't get the grove. I love all my Tiger brethren but shite I want a little bit of space for my tailgate - I don't necessarily want to be parked up on your drunk arse the entire time. It is by far the most overrated tailgate location in the South.

My buddy and I were walking around ready to throw out our red cups (because you have to pour alcohol in a cup, like an idiot) and I throw mine away at a trash can near a tailgate. A few jackass old pissers start yelling at me telling me not to use their trashcan. My buddy (being bigger than me) says, ok, fine, we won't use your trashcan. And throws the rest of his beer on the ground at their tailgate. We did NOT get our asses kicked after this - they just told us to frick off. Pussies.

That said, depending on what time the game is, if you're up for an adventure after - drive to Clarksdale, MS and listen to some damn fine blues music with non-douche people.

2 years ago, campus police made my brother and me open up 2 cases of beer (still sealed in the cases), dump out every single beer and throw away the cans and boxes. It was about 6 am and was in the back of my truck by our RV. We weren't even drinking out of them. Then when some people around us said somebody vandalized their RV's and stole shite overnight, he said "Not my job" and drove off on his golf cart.

I got a 'Go to He'll LSU' chant at the BYU game. Also they recently took away all power for tailgating because the administration were sick of the arguing.

I'll be there too. We might have central BBQ catering for us.
