The SEC would be shitting their pants with Herman at the helm and Aranda and Coach O still on board.

Everyone would but Nick, who would be looking forward to the challenge for a refreshing change.

Nobody if he is smart. He is doing a great job right now with none of those people around him and utilizing the staff he has. Whoever takes that job needs to come in and remove any trace of that culture from the program. You have to clean house and start with an entirely new mindset and approach to football.

There's no way he's coming. Unless the big 12 doesn't pick up Houston (which they'd be insane not to).
If they do, he becomes the highest paid coach after two seasons.
higher than Saban. Higher than Harbaugh.

Exactly. He gets a $5 million bonus if UH joins a Power 5 conference.

Completely disagree. You don't replace the sweet arse stereo system in your car because the transmission went out. O has done an excellent job with the Dline (although it wasn't overly impressive on Saturday, mostly because of the newly implemented defense). Raymond has been nothing but excellent for the secondary. It's too soon to judge Craig, but I see no reason to get rid of him. The coaching staff is top notch with heavy recruiting ties to the south that you can't just "replace."

That article is wrong.
It's a $5 million bonus, dispersed over 2 years.

Yeah, it would be shocking if Houston gave Herman $5M raise over what he already makes. i don't even know if Saban makes that much.

Long term is it a good idea for the Big 12 to pick up Houston?

It won't make their stadium any bigger. It's not gonna give them a better history. Eventually Herman will leave and the Big 12 will have... Houston still.
