Miles said he wasn't sure if Melvin would be back, due to academics. Ducre is coming in, but who else would be an option at fullback?

ETA Link: Ross Dellenger

Les Miles is "uncertain" if FB Melvin Jones will be with the team this spring. He didn't travel to bowl bc of academics. #LSU

Melvin Jones didnt travel with the team for the bowl game due to academics

Options include Ducre, Mouton, tight ends like Jeter, even Hanner Shipley has mentioned full back, and also walk on FB/TEs like Devonte Meullion, Trey Galliman, and JD Moore.

Shipley prolly too big for Fullback dawg. Hes like 6-5 280.... Fournette will run right by him before he gets to his block...

BTW, that sucks about Melvin

A freshman or one of the TEs probably. I haven't heard anything about Melvin, did he play against ND, I don't remember.

I jope they just keep fullback out of the game plan (absurd, I know). If you need one situationally, shift a TE/DL into the role.

Gimme some damn single back.

If Jones indeed doesn't return, it'll be Ducre I'd imagine. Hes got all offseason and spring practice to adjust.

Wasn't Thomas Parsons an OL turned FB & JC Copeland was a DL turned FB.

Ducre is effin perfect for this.

I think he's going to be a monster RB/FB combo at LSU. He has crazy speed and agility for someone his size.

Ducre would have been started by midseason regardless. He's gonna be able to deliver the same crushing blocks at his weight. Plus his athleticism will allow us to actually complete some of those fullback flat routes that are attempted 5-10 times a game.

Ducre & Fournette in the back field would be sick. Ducre is a beast
