Apart from the arguments about the offense (many valid)..You have to give Miles credit for protecting the program above all costs when he excused Honey Badger and Perrilloux from the team. Especially when you see the sanctions against other major programs.

Considering the fact that this team lost 3 games by a total of 13 points, Honey Badger being excused arguably cost LSU a trip to the NCG (and that's despite all the blunders)...because Honey Badger was that damn good...Take him away from the 2011 team, do we make the big game?

Perrilloux is another story but losing him was catastrophic with what ensued in 2008/2009.

Its not just this: Miles will suspend players early and often, while other coaches suspend them for a series against Tennessee Tech.

Odd scenario. LSU loses ANY game in the 2011 regular season, and they would not be in the NCG regardless.

Miles did give RP many more chances than others.

Even against Bama!? No rematch?

I scoffed at Herbstreit when he said losing HB probably cost LSU the NC at the beginning of the season. In hindsight, I believe he was right.

No. No rematch. Not for LSU. You know this.

Losing several starters on the Oline to injury, having to play several true FR due to injury, and a schedule that is two to three times harder than our primary conference rival is what cost us a shot at the NC. It wasn't just losing HB.

How did you get to this conclusion? As long as our loss wasn't to Bama, we still would have gone. In fact, us having a loss last year would have kept Bama out.

Good luck with that on this board

Yes of course. But, despite all of this LSU lost 3 games by a grand total of 13 points - something an all-star play maker like HB could have made the difference...
