Why would you stay in Atlanta?

The best part about playing a road game hanging out in the town of the home team.

If you wanna stay in a big city go to Dallas or the SEC Title game

Stay in Commerce or stay in Atlanta.

Atlanta is going to be close to a three hour drive on game day FYI.

Commerce is a decent suggestion. If not Commerce, Mall of Georgia may be your next best option. Quick access to the highway and at least an hour closer than Atlanta. Ride I85 as long as you can before getting on 316. May want to take it to Jefferson and head into Athens from there. Don't know how bad that backs up on gamedays cause I never come that way.

Somewhere in Buford will be your best bet if Commerce doesn't work out.

Well... If the home town of the team doesn't have any hotels open, what does that mean?

If you have a SUV stay in your vehicle. We did this 2 years ago in Tuscaloosa (along with hundreds of other Tiger fans).

Good Luck.

316 is a two in, two out highway that runs right into Athens. Leaving, UGA has their stuff together, they open up both sides of 316 for cars leaving Athens. Coming in, not so much. It's not the worst, but people around here get excited whenever LSU comes to town, so it should be worse than usual.

Just get to campus really early and avoid a lot of traffic getting to Athens. Traffic will be horrible only within a few hours of game time. With LSU fans, I doubt that's a difficult suggestion to fulfill.
