Holeman & Finch in Buckhead, Empire State South in Midtown, Miller Union or Bocado on the Westside, Brick Store, Leon's or 2-4-6 in Decatur.
Take your pick. All are incredible restaurants. Brick Store may very well have the best beer selection in the entire country. Leon's and Holeman & Finch have the best bar/bartenders in the city.

Dantanna's right next to Lenox Mall. Sports bar with great food. If you like to look at extremely hot women while you eat, check out Tavern at Phipps...it's sort of an upscale Hooters, and they serve po-boys!

Ted's is good and nearby (a little on the small side) -on Luckie Street - there are several in Atlanta.
LINK
Rathburn's is over-rated to me - and there are three Rathburn's in Atlanta. Be sure your cabbie or driver knows which one you want to go to. The bar and one are close together - the other is not near nor would I walk.

Enjoy Atlanta and good luck!!

The Iberian Pig in Decaut Square -- awesome awesome food and their bar makes amazing quality drinks; they carve the ice off a huge slab, pretty neat;
Decautr Square also has Brickstore, which is awesome beer selection and they have a great Irish inspired Pub next to Iberian Pig and down the street is Twain's with pool tables, darts, good atmosphere and they brew their own beer
