Is he still hurt? I see him every game in full pads but hasn't stepped foot on the field

Same place Avery Peterson and Justin Maclin are. Riding the pine behind more talented players at their position.

Which made absolutely no sense.

But Ronald Martin is so good.

Thompson has gotta be nursing a injury. Bad luck for the guy.

Martin has played well this year. Not perfect, not All SEC, but very solid.

Medical redshirt.

He is not the same player he was prior to the surgery. Word is that his speed is gone. Very unfortunate. Hopefully he will regain his ability and play next year.

“It felt like a home game for us with so many people in the building,” Thompson said of the Tigers’ 28-24 victory over Wisconsin before a sold out crowd of 71,599 fans (mostly LSU fans) in the Texas Advocare Kickoff at NRG.
Unfortunately, the 2012 Elkins High graduate didn’t get a chance to play in the game. He’s taking a medical redshirt after injuring his knee during a home victory over Texas A&M last season.
Thompson, 20, is still practicing and traveling with the No. 12 Tigers who host Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday.
Thompson could return around mid-season, but he’d rather be 100 percent next fall.
“I’m rehabbing the range of motion,” said Thompson, who will have two years of eligibility remaining after this season.

Thanks for the info. Was wondering if there is any chance Corey could move to LB for next season?

Martin shouldn't be starting. Not offending him, but he is not an SEC safety

I'm not sure if that is something Chavis would do but it could be a possibility. Thompson has the size (6-2, 218) to play LB and he is a hard hitter that plays physical. On paper it looks like it could work.

I actually agree... Very much improved from last year. Not saying hes great or whatever, but hes a decent player out there for us. A lot of people wont let their perception of Martin change because of last year, and he was bad last year. But IMO, Adams and Martin should be the 2 starting safetys.
