Les Miles and the LSU Tigers have been a Top 2 SEC program since 05 really, they have won a National Title and played for a 2nd (same as Auburn) and they have churned out 103 wins vs only 29 losses (so on average a 10 win season)

Since A&M and Missouri joined the SEC the Tigers have gone 28-11 overall and 15-11 in SEC play.

2012: 10-3 (6-2) LSU finished tied for 2nd in the west with A&M behind Alabama
2013: 10-3 (5-3) LSU finished 3rd in the west behind Alabama and Auburn
2014: 8-5 (4-4) LSU finished tied for 4th in the west behind Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State.

Is LSU still the 2nd best team in the SEC? Missouri has won 2 East titles, Auburn has gone 23-16 with a National Title appearance (although in 2012 they went 3-9 and 0-8 in conference), Georgia which played in the SEC Championship in 2012 and has a 30-10 (18-6) record over last 3 years, and then Alabama is still the top team in the conference, that much is certain.

LSU isn't the clear cut #2 team in the SEC since 2012 but they are not far off. You could put Missouri 2nd by virtue of their 2 East Titles, or Auburn by virtue of their Nation Title appearance + SEC Title, or Georgia by their SEC appearance plus their 30-10 (18-6) record.... The Mississippi schools have each had a good season this past season but before 2014 Ole Miss was 15-11 over previous 2 seasons and State was 15-11 as well.

we hire the right DC we move up to fight for first place

We hire the wrong DC we fall further down

It is crucial who we hire. This hire will define CLM and ALeva. Period

Obviously LSU is not as dominant as they were in the past; however, if Cameron can develop the quarterbacks and the right guys stay I firmly believe 2015, 2016, and 2017 will be years to remember. Also, LSU this past season potentially could have climbed to the top with a defeat against Bama and had some luck with other teams. Honestly though rank in the conference doesn't really matter. Just gotta win the division then win the championship.

This makes zero sense, and that's just reality. You still have an offense that cannot score

We're middle of the pack, IMHO.

We can have the greatest defense in college football but if we can't score an average near 30 PPG, we won't be winning any championships.

The wishful presumption is that we will not repeat this fiasco again

If we open game one and it is AJ again then you are exactly correct.

that you try to put Missouri up there is asking for the thread to be deleted. I don't know how you expect to be taken seriously......Missouri has won because of the dumpster fire of a division that they have competed in...period. Please don't start pumping them up like they are a top SEC team. Good god. I realize you are working on your post count...but please try to be realistic. Have a good day.

Since the expansion I think we are currently middle of the pack. We currently are not even in the top half of our division and without a change in offense we won t see the upper echelon of the sec again under Miles. We had the # 4 scoring defense in the nation this year and still lost 5 games.

Missouri has had more success recently than LSU, the East has looked better in the bowl games this season. You being biased against the East is not a reason to discount what Missouri has accomplished.
