Where do they rank in LSU baseball lore?

My thoughts, obviously not gospel. Just want to start a discussion about the key players leaving after this season:
Alex Lange - top 10 pitcher ever at LSU, will go up if team wins CWS
Jared Poche - held in same regards at J. Determann, but with more historic numbers (wins, starts, longevity, etc.)
Kramer Roberston - top 5 SS based off of last 2 seasons
Greg Deichmann - top 5 OF/power hitter considering BBCOR bats era
Cole Freeman - will be remembered for grit/consistency, but not a historic 2B
This is just one person's opinion, so share your thoughts if you feel so inclined. Geaux Tigers!

Lange top 10 pitcher sure
Poche more of a mestepay type compiler who was above average
Kramer top 10 SS no way top 5
Deichman I would say one of the best LH power hitters we've had and imo has the chance to be one of our better pro hitters
Freeman has been our most consistent hitter the last 2 years. Juco guys tend to get lost when talking overall history so he'll always been underrated like Ryan Patterson

Agreed. Although Dean ahead of Deichmann

Hate to be that guy and ruin a thought out post, but I've had tickets since '91; and they aren't the best I've seen. They stack up well for a deep postseason run (which they are maintaining), but many a 1st team AA have played all positions at LSU.

Shimpf and Dean over Deichmann unless Deichmann destroys omaha.

I almost put Kramer at top 10 but switched to the top 5 level at the last minute. I believe he is a top 10 SS in modern day LSU baseball (1987-present).
Deichmann is behind Furniss and Dean in the power numbers game, but his 2017 season is pretty damn impressive considering he had almost zero protection all season long in the lineup.
Poche/Freeman are good, not great. Poche has gaudy wins/starts stats because he has been a weekend starter since day 1.
Lange is the wildcard as far as where he stands in history. Top 5 may be too generous...

I don't think he's a Bregman but he's definitly in the top 2 of the last 2 seasons

Considering the bat change Deichamn is a better power hitter than both.
He's a 25-30hr hitter with those bats

Everyone likes to follow the stars obviously, however to answer your question we will have to wait until the end of the season.

Depends on how they finish, if they win it they maybe the most gritty underrated of our championship teams if they lose they're a just another team that made it to Omaha. There arent any top level prospects on this team no Todd Walkers no Ben McDonald types on this team and it makes them that much more loveable. Of course we have some pros but they feel like a true college team.

Kramer's probably top 10.
Lot of good short stops over the years (not necessarily in order of best):
Russ Johnson
Alex Bregman
Andy Sheets
Brandon Larson
Ryan Theriot
Austin Nola
Kramer Robertson
It's tough company to be in that list. There's some good ones have come through. I may be missing some from the Smoke years; those years are a bit hazy to me.

Didn't Aaron Hill play SS too?

Dj Lemahieu had a hell of a career and was a big part of the 09 championship.

Yes, he sure did and he definitely needs to be on the list. He was real good.
I admit I had to look him up to make sure, but his player bio says he started 60 of his 68 starts in 2003 at SS (the other 8 being at third).

Yeah, DJ gets honorable mention since he did play some SS during his tenure here. He was an absolute fantastic player, but I picture him in my mind as a second baseman since that's where he was during the '09 title run, Nola being the SS later in the season and through the postseason.

I'm not sure Alex Lange is an All-time Top 10 Pitcher, Skip has Crazy Pitching Talent in 18 years of Coaching

Freeman--best 2nd baseman ever to play at LSU!
