His offensive skill set is nowhere near what it was hyped to be

An off the ball screen getting Martin going toward to the rim would be smart.

Not a pure shooter to be standing out at the 3 point line.

We rarely draw up any offense. Its hickey take the ball down court and everybody stand around and dribble a little bit and then pass to somebody and shoot, that is our offense in a nutshell

That was the Dale Brown offense that JJ learned

So did you watch the game? If you did then you would have seen that Martin played a majority of the game at the 4. People need to understand Martin feels more comfortable on the wing than in the block. He has not once ALL year posted his man up. Why is that??? Because he doesn't want to!!!! He's shown decent glimpses this year of a mid range/pull-up game.

I don't get how the team just got handed to them, stringer goes 0-fer, CJJ shows zero creativity with play calling, and we got crushed on the boards...yet there are 3 threads about Martin. He didn't do that badly compared to some.

If he was supposed to be playing the 4...then play the damn 4. Not where you are "comfortable" at with a below avg jumper.

martin is a massive liability on defense and would get slaughtered down low. Just face it, he needs to lose some of that baby fat and stop playing so fricking soft

Our offense is a lot of things, but it's not this. We're not running the Princeton offense out there, but we do a variety of things out there. The majority of our offense goes through O'Bryant (as well it should), but we do some different things with high ball-screens. I do agree with some posters that there needs to be more creativity on offense. We don't have a go-to set (besides feeding O'Bryant on the block).
