When our closer started to give up runs at the end...

Would you have put in Lange, similar to what Florida did? I know it ultimately didn't have any bearing since we couldn't score anyway, but I was wondering if we needed to stop the hemorrhaging to give ourselves a better chance in the 9th.

We can beat the hell out of the "what if" game all day long.
It'd be a nice gesture to give Lange one last inning on the mound but I'm glad he didn't, thatd just look like PM throwing in the towel.
Our boys fought hard. It was an uphill battle the whole way, a few things didn't go ou way, and we made some mistakes.

Despite the pitching woes we had in the tournament, the reason we are not champs today is that the 1-4 hitters did not travel to Omaha. Period.

We had plenty of chances and blew them. Can't fault our pitching and defense when we can't score more than 1 run.

No. Florida put in their starter because winning last night ended it all. If we had won last night, we still have another game to play.

We could not get on base nor could we score runs. It didn't matter if Greg Maddux was on the mound last night.
