If I had to guess it would be an incoming recruit like Moses if he signs here. Who y'all got?

If he wins the Heisman, I'd say nobody gets #7. Ever.

Man we never retire a jersey here, but it will be deserved. I personally like looking for #7 on the field each year though.

I dont like retiring numbers that quickly. Let the guy have his NFL career first, then retire it in 10-15 years.

I'd hope this isn't the case. I like the new tradition of #7 going to the exceptional player. I don't want it to die before it gets started.

I say Guice gets it, if Moses wants it he should get it his soph year after Guice leaves.

Whoever is our best chance for heisman should wear it every year.

According to page 72 of last year's media guide, Cannon's jersey was retired following the 1959 season.

Following that 1959 season, Cannon’s jersey was retired into the LSU Athletics Hall of Fame

Cannon graduated in 1959

Cannon Sr. graduated from LSU in 1959

from his wikipedia page, but it has an independent citation

It becomes a VERY interesting discussion if he wins the Heisman this year, based on how we treated the jersey # of our only previous Heisman winner.

But I sure would hate to see the current #7 tradition of greatness end also.

Hopefully the stadium gets to wear it from now on after he wins the Heisman during our championship campaign.

You may be thinking that you need to graduate to get into the LSU Hall of Fame. Pete Maravich had his number retired in 1970 and the Assembly Center named after him,....but because he never graduated, he is NOT in the LSU Hall of Fame.
