Seems like he is hitting a wall. Scoreboard showed his velocity lower than usual – he was even hitting 89 on the fastball towards the end there.

I'm officially worried, considering everything that has happened recently.

His next start will tell us a lot.

His rotation got fricked up. Not to mention the aggies have one of the best offenses in the country. He'll be fine.

Him missing a start with soreness tells me he may be experiencing some fatigue. Next series is big for him.

He's young. This was bound to happen.

Has absolutely nothing with him needing to sit out two weeks ago with arm fatigue and his fastball velocity dropping significantly.

His FB velocity was fine most of the game. He lost command of it towards the end And was just trying to get pitches over.

With that said I'm glad he has a full week off. Hopefully he fully recovers and is back to being dominant.

I understand where you're coming from but you also have to take into consideration his opponent.

Kind of hard to believe, but the Ags are actually good at this baseball thing and can hit well.

Not worried currently unless it's a trend

I'll admit, there's concern his youthful arm may be getting worn down. I defenitely don't expect him to be lights out like he was the first half of the season, I'm just hoping for quality starts at this point.

I'm not talking about the hits he gave up.

Actually read the thread before you post.

Did you miss last weeks game?

A&m is impressive hitting. He settled in just fine. Had he made the play at first without an overthrow it's s different score too

I did read your thread dipshit. Don't be a jackass just because I don't agree with you

I would say next weekend, he is a freshman but he has struggled the last couple weeks, but he did have a 0 loss record with a 1.40 ERA as a starter. Sometimes starters have bad games.

He sat out with "shoulder tightness". Same thing PM did with Nola his freshman year.

Clearly you didn't... I never once brought up A&M's hitting as being the reason to worry.

My post is solely based on fastball velocity.

He struggled the first 2 innings last week then was dominant. Definitely not a long term issue.

The kid was throwing 89 late into a very humid game coming off a short week. Relax. He'll be fine.

I wouldn't worry about a freshman losing a little velocity late in the season, especially considering he's dealt with some soreness and his rotation is fricked right now. If he starts to totally lose command I'll worry. Echoing another poster, I think his next start should tell us a lot.
