Some of you are bothered by really trivial shite. For a team that just won and is heading to the cws, there sure is a lot of focus on ULL.

That always annoyed me. It's like a few years back I saw a guy at an LSU football game wearing a Colts jersey. WTF?

What if it was a Bert Jones or Joseph Addai jersey?

It was more sideways than backwards

Well it started out crooked backwards... then sometime after the incident with the ULL guy it went more crooked forward/sideways. It was pretty much everywhere except straight.

I did laugh when someone from 201 yelled "put your hat on right!" mid-argument.

I will be so happy when the LSU-ULL bullshite finally ends...hopefully by the end of the day. It is extremely pathetic on their part, obviously, but the fact that we keep talking about it makes it just as bad.

I thought you were certain that Lafayette had the best fighters? Didn't you proclaim that in a different thread that you started?

I don't give ULL any real thought, so it didn't bother me at all. I figure most ULL fans are also LSU fans, so they are welcome on the bandwagon the rest of the way.

But I also don't go looking for things to be outraged about.

What if someone went to both schools, two years at one, two years at the other? What if they graduated from one and went back and got a second degree from the other? What if they were an undergrad at ULL and then graduated Law School at LSU, or was an undergrad at LSU and went to grad school for a specific program at ULL? Or graduated from one of the schools only to get hired and spend a large portion of their life working for and pouring their energy and effort into the other school? What if you grew up in South Louisiana rooting for both teams bc you had one parent who was an LSU grad and one who was a ULL grad, but you went to some random small college with basically no sports teams for academic purposes?

I know people who fit into every single one of those categories. LSU and ULL are less than an hour apart and there's so much intermingling between BR and Laffy and the two universities, there's plenty of legitimate reasons to have rooting interests in both teams. Not that it should matter, let people cheer for who they want, but still

What about the tatted up old guy they showed on the screen towards the end of the game either between innings or during a pitching change. Anyway dude had on a tank top not colors of either school and a Chevrolet logo tat on his chest. I couldn't get my phone out fast enough to snap a pic.

but I don't have the blind hatred that a lot of the LSU fanbase does.

I personally do not think there are that many LSU fans that have this "blind hatred" of ULL. yes, in a sports contex, there is a lot of trash talking but that is because sports competition is what it is. add that LSU is the "darling" of Louisiana there is simply not enough room for a challenger.

I think LSU fans (some) treat ULL unnecessarily bad and I think ULL fans (some) treat LSU unnecessarily bad. who started it? who knows and who cares. in my travels of Lafayette for business over the years I discovered a core of LSU haters that I was unaware that it existed (at the time). there is a general feeling amongst these haters that LSU gets the state funding over them and that LSU grads ignore them and look down on them. they just want some respect. i'll agree with the respect issue but as far as the state funding issue I don't. LSU and ULL officials, along with the other colleges in louisiana should band together and change whats needs to be changed to increase ALL state colleges funding. and yes, the state may need to shut down some of it's colleges.

I was sitting 6 people down from that idiot and his punk buddy. they were harassing the woman and the husband, rather large ULL fan, got mad and asked them if they wanted to go outside the stadium. She was very obnoxious herself and added to the problem.

I was torn last year when they played Ole Miss because I didn't want ULL in if LSU wasn't in because we'd never hear the end of it, but I wasn't going to outwardly pull for Ole Miss to do it.

i wonder whom Tiger fans in South LA have more contact with, Ole Miss or ULL fans. some of us know ULL people in person but only have contact with Ole Miss on message boards, so I know who I wanted to win
