I wouldn't be surprised if this team ends up breaking the record

When I was in the 9th grade in Baton Rouge, LSU MBB was 3-23.

I don't know. Between the Bob Petit, Pistol, and Shaq we sucked pretty hard. We will have to get much worse.

!966-67 was Press Maravich's first year. The team went 3-23 overall, 1-17 in the conference. Fans would go to the freshman game and watch Pete, then leave before the varsity game started.

I don't remember the record but my dad and I were some of the ones who left. One thing though....I believe those uni's were the best. The white and dark gold was the best.

True dat. Interesting tidbit....the year after Pete left LSU had a better record than either of the teams Pete's first two years.

We did go to the NIT final four Pete's last year.

And were beaten in the semis by Marquette and Dean 'the dream' Meminger.

Yes-Dean Meminger got the best that day, but Pistol got revenge when he went off for 68 against the Knicks. Meminger was guarding him for part of the game.
