I don't know about that, they used to host Sugar Bowls as well as Super Bowls at Tulane Stadium. If they could do that back then in an 80,000+ stadium, they could do it now in a 30,000 seat stadium. They might even sell it out finally.
Times have changed, back then you could park on the streets in the surrounding neighborhoods and the campus had fewer buildings. Today the NIMBY's have gotten laws passed making it illegal to park on their streets and the campus is overcrowded.

Whenever there's an inactive rivalry in college football, here's how I decide who's the a-hole in the standoff.
Take a look at last season's (214) total home attendance as well as stadium capacities:
LSU 712,063 (102,321)
Tulane 150,074 (30,000)
LSU has 83% of the combined attendance from last year and 77% of the collective capacity of the two stadiums.
Once you've compiled these numbers, hypothetically propose a home/away series that contains a bias parallel to the ratio between the two attendance figures. Since it appears that LSU brings about 80% of the juice to the table, let's dole out the home games and the seats according to that number--say, a 10-year contract with eight games in Tiger Stadium and two at Yulman Stadium.
I honestly think that neither school would agree to this hypothetical, making them both sort of assholes in the standoff. That said, I'm an LSU grad and fan, and I would be in favor of the home/home/home/home/away deal.

We should NEVER play toolame in any sport. All it does is help them. We have nothing to gain by playing that slime.

Do away with the restrictions"? You do realize that it's flat in the middle of the N.O. UpTown area. Do you honestly think all those snobby arse greenie blue bloods will ever give in to having fans tailgate in their gated communities?

Why would LSU agree to play Louisville? But seriously, are you not aware of the huge scoring discrepancy between LSU & ULLLL in the games played to date? Do you really feel ESPN would want to show a blowout of that proportion and to such a small part of the country? And ULLLL has not ever sold its allotment of tickets to their games in TS. Ever.

Given 9/10 Tulane students and "fans" would scalp their tickets to LSU fans, I would say LSU would demand 90% of the gate and all concessions...and even that wouldn't come close to getting it done.

As a Tulane guy, this is fair and agreeable.
