With the hiring of Steele, what will the fans consider a good first year? Middle of the pack in the SEC defense or what?

Are we staying in a 4-3 or going to a 3-4? Expectations would be lower if we transition the defense.

Ar the very least, let it be below Chavis' 300+ yards a game numbers.

A great year would be around 250 ypg allowed, in the Pelini/Muschamp realm.

No last minute game-winning opponent drives would be nice, too.

I would love to have low 20's average. I think our offense will be able to put up more points next year. If he can keep it close to where we were we could do pretty well.

I don't think you can look at it as Offense vs Defense anymore. It is straight wins, losses, and recruiting from here on out as the next coach to go would be Miles.

If we finish with a better overall defensive ranking than this year..

A good defensive year will be if they don't have to clean up the mess left by a Anthony Jennings - led offense.

Hopefully we can find a QB who can move the chains and score so the defense isn't forced to preserve a 1-2 point lead for the entire second half.

Let's not forget that most of these idiots complained about the chief. They will have a hard time answering your question

Read the question wrong but I'll let it stand

It all comes down to offensive production. The D can play lights out but if we only produce 14-17 pts a game we have a limited shot at competing for a NC. Could you imagine AJ playing against a D from OSU, O or even TCU?!

Beat Bama
Beat ATM
Win West

That's a good defensive year. That is the measure of success. Numbers don't mean anything.

Holding SEC opponents below 24 ppg.

If that's not good enough to go at least 10-2, LSU has failed miserably at fielding an adequate offense.
