Think you'll see those 3 to start. Hess could slide in by SEC time depending on what's happening in the bullpen.

Hess will be a monster. Wouldn't be surprised to see him close this year.

Definitely Lange and Poche, and Gilbert is a good guess for Sunday starter at the start of the season. I haven't seen the freshmen yet, but if Hess lives up to his billing, he can start midweek with a chance to move into the Sunday spot later in the year. Sounds like we'll have some good options to choose from.

Our two issues to start the year are:

1) we only have 3 lefty pitchers on the roster: Poche, Bush, and a FR from Brother Martin. So no experienced lefty out of the pen.

2) we only have 3 dedicated outfielders: Breaux, Jordan, and Duplantis.

Normally I'd say this is a little early....

But considering the options:

Rabble foosball rabble rabble, bitch bitch bitch, rabble, Refs cheated us, rabble, fire Less, rabble, burn trees, rabble

Talking baseball looks like a timely pastime

Today is the first fall practice. It's time to talk about it anyway.

Man I can't see them taking Newman out of the closing role. He has been pretty successful the past couple years.

I'd like to see Newman in long relief to get to a "true" closer. We need more innings out of him IMO. Cartwright won't be back for the beginning of the season and when he is, he'll be limited. Reynolds is good for an inning. But there's a drop off in consistency after that. Bain, Norman, then a bunch of younger/new guys.

Not anymore, he transferred to Kent State over the summer.
