What was wrong with our defense in the regular season?

Was it weak line play? Injuries? Youth? The loss of Cooper?

I was underwhelmed with our defense. We gave up 7 YPC to Bama. Ole Miss torched us. State had a great day through the air.

Our linebackers were probably the strength of this defense.

Loston was our best safety. I learned that Eric Reid is a SS playing FS. Weak in coverage.

I thought they were fine pre-Bama. I just feel like post-bama, the team has been a little deflated. That seems like a pretty simple analysis, but it just may be the issue.

The team is a little fatigued but it's mainly scheme. We simply cannot give 15 yrd cushions to the WRs

OK, if true, that is a result of bad coaching. The DL disgruntled or what?

I doubt that rumor. I think the DL and secondary was vastly over-rated especially the DE's.

Mostly youth. The jalens and Loston will be awesome next year. I think it was our pass d that was the problem

Nah. They just quit playing as hard. Probably trying to stay healthy for the draft. Their biggest problem was being over-aggressive an missing tackles

I would imagine that the Bama game was a huge let down for a lot of the guys on the team in light of the MNC game. They were out for vengeance and almost got it...came up just a little short. Having already lost to Florida and a razor thin margin of error - they probably deduced that they were out of the National Title hunt...and you know, kind of went into cruise control.

we didn't go full court press soon enough but Johnny got it rolling when it was needed.
