What was the base of your expectations?

The meltdown here has ranged from "I told you so" to epic. I am curious for you posters out there where did you get your expectations. Dont get me wrong I was just as disgusted as most on here but to me I just look at it as the somebody dropped the glass slipper and broke it.
The signs were/are there.
The vanilla play calling against BYU. Coaches were not willing to make any mistakes or take any risk at all.
Poor line play against an FCS - Chattanooga that we got away with.
Playing 20 freshman. This would not have been alarming to me in a couple of routs but most played in real PT. How many people expect a team playing 15 - 20 freshmen to compete in upper half of SEC?
The list of transfers out by people who were going to play.
The long list of suspensions that nobody has any idea about.
The veil of secrecy over the whole fall camp. Whats up with that? Miles never showed the actual play practice but showed drills. CEO even blocked most drills from media.
All this is not a doomsday point but it gradually got me lowering my ceiling for this team. I like many had this team at 11-1 or 10-2 going into camp. Now I see 8-4 or 7-5. The good news is that playing 20 freshmen and 20 soph's then we should be strong as shite next year... yea, I know NYU

Honestly I thought that LSU wouldnt be challenged until the Florida game and part of that was because the game is at Florida. I should have known better especially after the Florida game last year.

I expected 3 or 4 competitive losses.

Didn't Les do this essentially every year. We will always be "young"
We will always recruit good players who can come in and play early

I thought MSU would be a challenge more so than the avg ranter but I too thought the season would hinge on the UF game...

My expectations were that we were not 30 points worse than Mississippi State.
That should not need an explanation.

Vegas, they said we'd go 9-3 and they're more reliable than hacks and our ignorant fanbase.

the 30 points does not bother me as the foundational flaws we saw in the line play. It is not hard to steamroll somebody once they are gassed. Hell, Dallas was 25 behind Denver yesterday at the beginning of the 3rd... but they will make adjustments and beat the crap out of some else.

I can handle a loss but it was the way it went down Saturday that doesn't sit well. We were completely dominated in every aspect, completely sloppy and undisciplined like no other LSU team I have seen in a while. Both lines were abused. Offensively we looked just as competent as Cams offense.
Blown assingment on defense was really bad too
I know we can't win every game but even with thin areas in the line up, there is zero excuse to be dominated in every aspect to MSU. We weren't playing Bama, or Florida or another big time ranked team with big time athletes. MSU is a good team but in terms of talent level, they are not as talented as a couple teams we will see later down the road.

Me too. What has my panies in a wad is the apparent number of suspensions of many key players. Either he has lost control or is micro-managing to our detriment. If the players were doing things that actually warranted the punishment then they should not play. But what are those things. That would tell me more about this program

9-3/8-4
I thought if anything he'd at least win ok this year and the decline would reveal itself further on.
I'm not saying we are in a decline yet, but I think 8-4 is probably the ceiling this year, and that's generous.

I expected to be 5-0 after September. Oops.
After what I saw last weekend, if you offered to guarantee 7-5 I would take it. Last time I would have taken that deal was 1999. Unfortunately we're partying like it's 1999.
