What was Harris thinking on that last INT?

1st and 15 from the 35. One minute to go. One timeout. He gets flushed out and has 10 yards open space in front of him to get into good FG range. Down by 2 points.

Why in the world do you throw that ball? Does a high school QB throw that ball? Do you throw that in flag football? Sand lot football with your friends? Any level of football ever devised?

What was he thinking?

That might be the most discouraging thing of the whole day. No matter what play is called or offense is installed, a mistake like that makes no sense at all.

Why?

What was Harris thinking for the whole game is the better question

Our QBs haven't exhibited poise in years. That comes from confidence, which comes from knowledge. It's not the student. It's the teacher.

Sadly, I don't think he would have thrown that in high school. His mentality is "throw it towards the sidelines". That's something they are coaching the QBs to do.

Somehow our coaching isn't getting through to these guys at QB I guess. I mean I've never played QB in organized football and even I saw in real time it was a bad choice.
Run for a few yards or just chunk it out of bounds

LF got them there going as hard as he could. How did he feel about that throw?

The coaching is terrible. But, you learn stuff like that in Jr. High ball. That horrible decision is on Harris.

Sure, he should be coached better. Our offensive coaches from Les on down are horrible. But, that was the dumbest thing I've seen a QB do in that type of situation since I can't remember when.

Cam sat next to him on the bench and didn't say much.

He would never see the field again if I was HC.

Wasn't a smart play by Harris, but Clapp needs to share in the blame. Jumps offsides and then according to Times-Pic, let's the blizzing backer come through untouched.

Ball on 35 yd line, 1:04 on the clock, 1 TO (burned 2 due to bad coaching but I digress)
Come on man...a youth football coach knows what to do in this situation. RUN THE FOOTBALL, heck you can clock it pick up yards; Whisky was tired RUN THE FOOTBALL, use your TO to set up a game winning FG. No excuses fellow LSU fans - FIRE LES MILES IMMEDIATELY

Well, good coaching would let him know..." If it's not there, run. DO NOT FORCE IT AND DO NOT LOSE YARDAGE"

They now have this guy geared NOT to ever run. Hes afraid to play football. That's what you get when you strangle a qb.

If Clapp does what everyone says he is supposed to do. Harris throws the deep route and it is either a TD or an incomplete pass. If incomplete we run twice with Fournette ...

What we all should be focusing on is not one play but why we weren't two touchdowns ahead at this point.

His play is a direct reflection of the coaching that he's given. It's why he looks no different from his predecessors. He's probably never even practiced that sort of situation.

Exactly. Even if we pull that out, it wouldn't change the type of team that we have moving forward through the rest of the season. The bigger issue is how in the hell we can field 18 returning starters with the most expensive coaching staff in the country and look so laughably unprepared, clueless, and flat.

The oline was terrible. Harris was getting hit in the back field before he could turn around and hand off to LF7 on some plays. Griese said it best that a qb starts to see ghost and starts getting antsy.

But on that one play, that's on Harris. 100%. He threw to nobody, sidearmed at that. Dural wasnt even close to the play and #82 was barreling down the sideline not even looking.

It was plain stupid. He wasn't thinking at all.

The Tigers could have taken the ball and run up the middle a couple of times and got Delahoussaye in position for the winning FG.

Even if he missed it, the Tigers could have salvaged pride. Now they've salvaged nothing other than enraging true Tiger fans.
