What venue options are out there?

to me they either play in Columbia or Baton Rouge.
Georgia Dome has a game at noon and the falcons are home at noon the next day. Not enough time to get it ready for the NFL if the added a game at 5pm. So that's out.

IMO this would be best....... But again its a shame that most that would have gone to the game in Columbia have no homes are in sad times... So going to another venue changes nothing for them........ To all those people suffering in SC a football game just doesn't seem to be of much importance.......

i kinda hear what you are saying. but there is something to be said for the mental relief of some sort of normalcy.

Shoot, there are dozens of locations within a couple hundred miles. Remember having no hotels and having to stay in tents on campus for Auburn game (post storm). Many roads and transportation services were out. Good for the state. Of course, we won.

The Charlotte Observer’s Joe Person reported on Tuesday afternoon that, per a source, the Gamecocks have reached out to the Carolina Panthers about playing in Bank of America stadium in Charlotte. The Panthers are on the road this weekend, but Person pointed out that the team recently re-seeded the grass at the stadium, so it might not be suitable for play on Saturday. There is also a NASCAR race scheduled for the weekend in the Charlotte area.

Won't argue this..... To each his own.... Can't help but feel bad for them.... BUT I would go help a community out in this time instead of going to a football game... That's just me... I LOVE LSU but would do the same thing if something had affected this area.........

Word is Charlotte is not an option. UGA is at Tennessee. That's about the closest venue with no game that can seat a decent amount of people.

Why not have it in Athens at Sanford?

Relief from normalcy is enhanced by winning and that is unlikely. If I was their AD, I'd be looking for every reason just to cancel the game. Of course, couldn't ever admit that.

I heard Olympia and Memorial have been asked if they could house the game
