What score would make you feel like the team is improving?

I say we need at least 42-7.

Just improving? 23-22.

28-0
or
35-7
Scores like this would not be unrealistic and might suggest some improvement and possible readiness to encounter the SEC big boys a week at a time.

This game is almost completely irrelevant. There is no score that would make me feel good. If we blow them out then we just did what we were supposed to do. Any other result and it's just another reason to feel pessimistic.

Really games like this are the worst part of college football, but I guess that's a different conversation.

Whoever is scheduling these Troy type games is not providing LSU with teams that really offer the kind of challenge early in the season that helps LSU to be ready for the SEC games ahead. I know this seems to be what a lot of other schools are doing, but LSU is not “other schools.” Our fans and team and traditions expect better.

It's not the score that really matters

It's not about the score, but about looking better running the ball, pass pro, passing, tackling and doing the little things on STs right.

100 to 0. Anything less is failure.

Score in this one is irrelevant. Penalties, execution of plays, blown coverage, running game...those are the things to look for.

oh and turnovers- been good so far.

What the hell. You can’t expect to have power 5 to power 5 teams every week. Scheduling is a two way street. You need the other team to agree as well. Name one team that has zero cupcakes on the schedule.

Seeing how Alabama beat a good Vandy team by 50 points I would expect nothing less over Troy. Yes I understand that Vandy is not a great team but do think they could beat Troy by 20 points.

I think it's more of a criticism of the culture of college football in general, at least for me.

I'd feel pretty good with a shutout and 80% conversion on 3rd down. I don't care so much about the score.

Offense- 200 yds rushing, 200 yds passing, 0 sacks, 0-1 turnover, 60%+ 3rd down conversion

Defense
10 points or less
< 2 blown coverages

Overall
Intensity for 60 mins

I hope LSU wins by a wide margin like they should. But even a 42-7 win against a Sun Belt team won't tell us anything.

I hope they look good tonight and that carries into next week. But tonight's game will really only tell us if the team is a complete disaster this year or not.
