Les is not changing. He is not capable or he would have done it on his own. I love Les. I got a bit misty last night at the end. He is a great man and a great representative of LSU and I know that he loves his players and they love him. But, he is 26-11 the last 3 seasons and they have not been good seasons overall. This is the 2nd year in a row that the team is unranked at the end of the year.
Les says that he understands that expectations are high, but they clearly are not. Apparently, everyone is fine with mediocrity and insanity - which means that we do the same thing over and over expecting a different result.
Does Les deserve a chance to fix this mess? Of course! But, Les CANNOT fix this. He has shown that time and time again. He won't fix it.
The team last night showed some life. Special Teams and Defense looked like an LSU team. That is good. If that fire had been there all season, the record would be better. That is Les' plan - all 3 phases firing well with a strong running game and adequate passing game. But, the defense and ST were bad all year and the offense was stagnant. Still, we went 8-3 and Les was retained.
He feels justified now. He has to fix things but he won't. He doesn't know how. This wasted season proved that.

I enjoyed last night a whole lot more when I thought it was the last game he was coaching.

Dude instead of pulling against him, pull for him.
If he doesn't change he's gone.
At least for the team, hope he changes.
We all want LSU to win.

Link to rankings?

I'd guess things like a $15mil buyout when the school (a business) you supposedly represent is going bankrupt might cause you to focus your priorities a little different.

2011 is not why he kept his job.

I pull for Les and LSU. What difference does it make? If LSU were playing Alabama, Ole Miss, or Arkansas last night, the result would have been the same as it was when we played them. My "pulling"' for Les doesn't change any of that.

No job other than the LSU head football coaching job allows this pay for NO performance philosophy.
If I only hit my goal 50% of the time in the metrics that mattered, and if I went from the top if the sales board to the middle to falling off the map, do you, honest to God, think I would be employed next year? Frick NO!
I am held to standards to continue getting g MY xheck. Leslie Miles AND Joe Aleva are not.....

Since LSU isn't falling off the map, you have your answer.

Dude. These people will spend their last dollars to buy flights to Guyana before they allow him to leave, and Miles isn't leaving because he is too busy mixing up a batch of Kool-Aid.
