Of course alot of people will say the 2009 team, and rightfully so considering they are the only one to win the whole shabang but I'm gonna go a different route. I personally think the 08 team was the best. 23 game non-losing streak, last season in the OG box, and a nasty roster. Also featured my all-time favorite play vs. Rice in Omaha (thanks Blake). That team just didn't have the experience to win the whole thing, IMO. I think the fact they went to the CWS that season was as big a reason they ended up winning the whole thing a year later.

To me, the best season for CPM is the offseason.

Barely made it to the super regionals and then lost 2 in a row.

Awesome season

We exceeded expectations. We weren't supposed to host a regional. Much less get a national seed.

Don't be an arse hat

I think Paul is doing a horrible job with his unapologetic over-aggressive approach on offense combined with shitty baserunning.

HOWEVER, 2008 was one of the best coaching jobs of ANY COACH in LSU history. Winning 23 in a row in baseball is borderline impossible at this level. And when LSU got the streak broken by UCI and were getting their teeth kicked in in game 2, they were dead and somehow he got them back.

From the 7th inning on in that game 2 was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Leon robbing them multiple times is still firmly planted in my head

08 by far, that team was left for dead until the streak started. He actually made some moves and did some coaching with that one.

2008 23 game run and post season are my favorite memories as a student at LSU. I saw every one of the 23 game win streak, missed the one game we lost against Irvine, and was front and center for the comeback and the arse whipping the next night.

2008 & 2009

'08 because of the sick 22 game win-streak and the comeback against UCI at the Old Box to go to Omaha and 2009 for actually winning it all.

since then this program hasn't felt the same. I love the Tigers and will be there every time they play but something about this program since 'o9 has felt off.

While not a definite reason but because of the bat change that took place around 2010 the players we recruit are different. We recruit smaller slap hitters who have weak arms. Players that we recruited before that were pretty big and all.had potential to hit a HR consistentally.
