What is Miles role with this team

Is he like Bowden and Paterno- seems like he has no role with game planning. What does he concentrate on in prectice- the OL, qbs, def what?? For the life of me I can't figure out what he does other than practice incoherent phrases and coach speak- the guy is totally in over his head!
