Devery was a running back coming into LSU. I think he played RB his freshman season.

That's him. Once Salmen started running the score up he was running away from contact. I remember being shocked that a Notre Dame commit would cower and run away from contact like he was. Good times

All good guys but Robert Hammond was the man on that team. Also Sam George was our starting QB..... Short , had an arm, and quick with the option! That team went on to beat John Curtis in double overtime. Had some studs on defense.

Kevin malbrough was before devery. I can't remember if Sam George was before or after malbrough, but Sam played at Southern and then did the football parts for Jamie Foxx in any given sunday.

Devery was a running back at ohs. Malbrough I think was there with Michael hayes.

Fun fact: Devrey's grandmother was my nanny's housekeeper.

When Devery was drafted, his grandmother quit and told my nanny that the first thin she was going to do was hire a white woman to clean her house.

Sam was before Kevin. Robert was a big timer but screwed up at Florida State! I think it was drugs.

I remember listening to that ohs Curtis game on the radio at a family friends house. I used to live close enough to the park the hear the ohs band on Friday nights from the games.

As an aside, the current zoning in St Landry parish is a joke. Port Barre needs to be shut down. That north city opelousas is zoned for pb is a joke. It hurts kids in opelousas because they can't play sports without a ride home after practice.
