Seems like there was a big deal that year where we were hoping to get 5 blue chippers at one of the all star games and Fournette committed to LSU but most of the others didn't.

I can't for the life of me remember the others. Was Adams one? What happened to the others? Did they all come out as Jrs or are some still playing? How did they do in the draft?

5 for 5 turned into 2 for 5 when we got Fournette and Adams and "lost" on hootie jones, speedy noil, and I believe Tony Brown.

Not even biased when I say lsu got the best out of that deal.

I'm pretty sure Adams and LF7 were the two we got. One of them was Tony Brown who to my knowledge is having to return to bama for his senior year because he has been pretty mediocre and had to compete for playing time. One was an OL that went to Florida and hasn't been significant enough for me to remember his name. The 5th guy escapes me altogether

Was Dupre the 5th? Gerald Willis III from New Orleans was the DL that went to UF.

Fournette
Willis
Adams
Noil
Brown

Not that hard to remember, even though the other three have had mediocre careers so far.

Hootie was not one of the five. He had committed to Alabama and then decomitted. Many speculated that he or others were playing games to keep LSU from getting Jamal Adams. Didn't work obviously.

And:

Fournette saved a rough day for LSU head coach Les Miles. The high school all-star game was tabbed as "5 for 5" by LSU fans, as five 5-star recruits made their college commitment with the Tigers as finalists. Wide receiver Speedy Noil, defensive lineman Gerald Willis and cornerback Tony Brown spurned LSU for Alabama, Florida and Texas A&M, respectively. Fournette was joined by safety Jamal Adams in choosing LSU. Adams strengthens a defensive back class that was already one of the best the Tigers have ever had.

The "5" were Adams, Fournette, Willis, Brown and Noil:

quote:

“Les Miles was so shocked and surprised I was coming,” Jamal Adams said. Adams made his commitment public on Thursday during the second quarter of the Under Armour All-American Game at Tropicana Field, a 40,000-seat enclosed stadium near St. Petersburg’s downtown. Adams, a five-star safety from Carrollton High in Texas, was one of seven players who committed on national television on a brightly lit stage just off the field. Five had LSU has a finalists. The Tigers got two: Adams and St. Augustine running back Leonard Fournette, the nation’s top-ranked player. LSU lost highly rated in-state talents in defensive tackle Gerald Willis and receiver Devante “Speedy” Noil, both of Edna Karr, and Texas cornerback Tony Brown. Willis chose Florida and Noil picked Texas A&M. Brown says he’s heading to Bama.

Fournette
Dupre
Willis
Noil
Jones
That's the 5. All from Louisiana and predicted to sign with lsu. Adams was not one of the five. Hence the Louisiana part

No.

It was the 5 5 stars committing at the Ua game on 2/5 or whenever it was.

It was fournette
Brown
Adams
Willis
Speedy

this is correct. OP and many others keep saying Adams, but Adams was not in the original 5 for 5. Adams replaced Hootie, so they both couldn't have been in the 5 like the OP suggests.

The actual "#5for5" group was the 5 players we thought would commit to LSU at the Under Armor game:
Fournette
Adams
Willis
Speedy
Brown

Hootie, Cam Rob, and Dupre did not commit at the UA game.

People are idiots. It was 5 5* from Louisiana. Adams replaced jones when jones committed to bama. He decomitted but it was to late. Dupree and fournette were the only 2 of the 5 we signed, that's why people say 2/5. We got 2 of the 5 players from louisiana.

They say it is better to be thought a fool and remain silent than to speak and remove all doubt.

Dupre went to Curtis, Curtis kids ALWAYS commit in Nsd. Wake up man.

Hootie had been committed to Bama for two months., wake up man

You cannot link any article supporting that claim.

This is incorrect. It was the possibility of all 5 in one day. It was not just Louisiana guys that day.
