You know the theory being passed around about how Miles planned this whole thing?

He let Chavis go, sort of eased him out the door, because he had a better replacement waiting in the wings the whole time?

Could this still be true?

Masterful Miles told his Chavis Replacement to cool it for a few more days in order to make The Sting look all the more convincing, right?

It will all make sense once the DC hire is announced...

Anyone who actually saw Miles' post game presser knows this was ridiculous. He was blindsided by Chavis leaving.

I don't believe that to be true. Why would Miles meet with Chief and tried to convince him to stay? I don't see any positive benefit of Miles doing that at all.

I was almost baited into saying something... not nice.

No... I don't think this move is the result of a mastermind scheme.

Ridiculous? OR THE MOST "HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD" idea that we've seen in a long time?

Miles's acting at that Presser was masterful and deserving of Oscar consideration.

Chief is the Mark in this Sting. He was eased out because he's the real problem.

It's all crystal clear to me now.

He was not blind sided lol. These things do not happen overnight. I assure you Miles knew for a while that Chief was leaving LSU to go somewhere . Someone close to me played for Chief at LSU and they still keep in touch so to speak. Bottom line is that this didn't blindside Miles all.

And those people are the same ones that post the "if you want miles gone then who do you hire to replace him" and "people arent lining up to coach at Lsu" mantras.

Pumpers are truly comical. B

So he knew Chavis was leaving for a division rival and still let him coach in the bowl game? Also, if Chavis was so dead set on leaving weeks before the bowl game then why did he work so hard to get Amadi only to leave the day after he committed?

In short, it sounds like you're full of shite to me.

That's giving Miles way too much credit. Chavis got tired of losing because of Miles' inability to stop fricking with the offense, and running his 70s style bullshite. Alleva is a clown. Miles' has been winning games on talent alone. Cameron is a yes man. And Miles is here for what? 4 more years? In 2 years A&M will be eating our lunch unless Miles ACTUALLY gives up control of the offense, ACTUALLY recruits a decent QB for once, and ACTUALLY hires a top notch DC. If he promotes Haley, or hires Stooooooops, then frick it. We are gonna be behind Auburn, A&M, Ole Miss, Alabama, and (God help us) Miss State for quite some time.

negative types have been saying this for years. so you're saying THIS time for sure Miles is going to run the program into the ground and be fired. that it isn't like all of those other times when it for sure was going to happen and then didn't. THIS is it right? i don't want to get all worked up over nothing so please double check.

He's been in the process of running it in to the ground for several years now. Even he can't do that overnight.

right. so 5 or 6 more years and tDecline is complete and Miles has proceeded over the most wildly successful yet steady demise of a football program in history.
