I don't follow them, but we used to be really good, now they are not even a factor in this meet.

I get what you are saying but both teams are top 10 I believe. These are all just BS prelims anyways.

Losing Pat Henry was a blow, but you have to realize that revenue sports and sports that get on tv like women's hoops and softball will get more resources.

Rest of the team needs to pick it up, only 21 points I think

Heard that when Skip was AD he didn't congratulate Pat Henry after his last NC. Pissed Henry off and he bolted. Not sure if it's true, but that was the buzz when he left.

What?

Competitive, but mostly not a factor anymore, but still have top-5 teams.

Why? Losing Henry is the biggest reason. Just know Henry was frustrated in the lack of emphasis in High School track while he was here and especially the high school facilities even though he tried to promote the sport albeit quietly. That was him, just not outspoken. He LOVED how Texas supported track and field, which I think made it easy for him to bolt especially after feeling under appreciated.

He also was not happy with improvements in the facilities. LSU built a world class outdoor facility way back, one of kind at the time, but that brought about complacency about maintenance including the indoor facility.

That makes no sense.

Maybe because you don't know how track and field works.

They were never a factor in winning it, but still competitive in overall results in terms of being top-5.

Henry used to refer to scoring opportunities as "bullets" and the more you have, the better chance you had in winning. LSU didn't have the "bullets" this year compared to other teams thus they were competing for only a top-5.

Track&Field is one of the more predictable sports. Not 100%, but still you know who is the top team to beat going in and they would need to choke for anybody else to win. It's happened before, but not often.

TAMU, with that superior coach that many of you seem to think would have made us national champions every year he coached, finished BEHIND LSU in the team standings.

Did you know about their injuries? I mean, I'm glad LSU did better, but you want to go there.

OK, How many NC's has he won at A&M? How many for LSU since he left?

Has nothing to do with it.

You referred to them as "not a factor anymore". Which, as a whole, I disagree with considering that, even as you state, "still have top-5 teams". If you're a perennial top-5, then you are a factor in the sport.

Yeah, but they're no longer a factor in the sport, so...

Want me to repeat? You're just mad I proved you don't know nothing about Track&Field.

Keep arguing semantics like stout. Y'all kin?
