He has been doing much better these last 2 innings. I hope he can regain his freshman form. We will definitely need it to go all the way.

He needs to be better than he was last year. Especially when it comes to the control on his breaking ball.

Lange has a good curve ball. And yes he can be sporadic. But that's been him his entire career at lsu. Btw it's actually his slider that's his out pitch and almost never hits the zone but they swing and miss every fricking time.

So a better analysis of Lange is actually that his stuff, which has always been hit or miss, is not as effective when he gets behind in counts.

Yes it's sexy when his slider actually does hit for a strike and the batter was laying off, but more often than not it's just a nasty pitch in every sense of the word.

A dozen strikeouts says his curve ball was pretty damn good tonight.

Like Dizzy Dean used to say when he was a broadcaster, "he's having trouble keeping his balls out of the dirt."

You must be talking about yourself since you didnt watch any games last year.

You should support the team before you speak up.

The problem with all of you " fly by night fans" is that you dont really pay attention to the games, if you watch them at all.

If you did, you wouldnt be arguing with my analysis of last year.

Yall act like he was fricking Greg Maddux his freshman year. He's always buried that curveball of his in the dirt with two strikes. His freshman year they were swinging at it. Now the scouting report is out on him and they're holding back on that pitch.

Last year his problem was he couldn't stay ahead in counts so he couldn't force batters to swing at that vicious curve. If it's a 2-0 or 1-0 count you're letting that curveball hit the mitt. If it's 0-2 or 1-2 count they ain't got much of a choice.

Good post. That is exactly my point. But I think if you would go back and look at the placement on his breaking ball, you would see that it was better in his freshman year.

He needs to work on his location.

But great post. You're the man

I didn't get to watch the game tonight but judging from his stat line he seemed to do a pretty damn good job of spotting everything. Idk though like I said I couldnt watch or listen

It's not about any of that. It's the fact you're trying to come to a conclusion after he's started 2 games

You drive by baseball fans over react to everything

Seems like he used to have a lot more control.

You must not have watched the first inning when he struck out 4 in one inning...

He struck out 12 in six innings. Got in a jam with two on and one out and struck the next two out. Not sure what else you were looking for.

Maryland was ranked team starting the season and has a team batting average that is the same as LSU. I am sure he was being careful with location at times.
