and Gilmore?? They combined for zero snaps? Les's smoke screen at his best or injuries? discipline? not ready?

Accurate statistics, though....

Mystery, why did Les talk him up so much?
Posted on 9/1/14 at 9:40 pm to turnage
Great question. That's a new one

It is not there fault. It is not our coaches fault. They wanted to play and Les wanted to play them. But Wisconsin wouldn't let it happen.

LSU gets a ton of players back this week for playing

My hunch was that Les didn't want to advertise "attack the middle", but who knows...

Maybe Herron's absence was in-house discipline for the bike deal...just a guess on my part.

Both likely suspended if I had to speculate

Yea that's my guess as well.
But it's weird to suspend other players, but not Herron.
And you can say Herrons infraction wasn't as severe as the other guys and all that... But he still was held out from playing the entire game. Pretty much suspended the entire game.
I don't know... Just a weird deal with the suspensions and guys being withheld.

Somebody needs to ask this on radio show

sounds like a sound excuse...and more Les style smoke screen...which I admire..you can do this in NCAA play, not NFL, so why not?

Motivation tactic. They know his potential, but they want him to mature so he can reach that potential. We could have lost that game because he was missing, that's the main point. Stupid mistakes can cost Herron his future and/or teams success. The hype was also part of the motivation.

The coaches feel Herron wasn't ready.
Why they only played with 3 however...i don't know the reasoning behind that.

so why was he the subject of so much pre season talk?
Posted on 9/1/14 at 10:10 pm to Adam4848
Herron wasn't ready but godchaux was?
Les had made Herron the starter when the other starter at DT got hurt. My guess is herron didn't play because of in house suspension.

Wouldn't it be a bigger motivational tactic to keep him in BR when the rest of the team was in Houston?? like I said... Weird deal with the suspensions and withholding guys from play and all that.
But... Was really impressed with Godchaux. I thought he would turn into a monster for us at some point during his career... But I didn't expect him to play like he did tonight. Don't get me wrong... He made mistakes and missed some tackles tackles tonight... But was extremely disruptive out there and consistently flashed on the screen. He held his own against a very good, well coached, and disciplined OL from Wisky and showed the type of talent he has.
Was a DE in high school. Then, he gets his weight up to 298lbs for us and moves inside. And thats what Im so impressed with. Typically when you have a DT fresh out of high school, he has some baby fat and bad weight on him like Bain did last season. And switching from DE in high school to DT in college, they typically spend that 1st year adding weight like Brockers did.
Well, Godchaux didnt have that problem. Hes 298lbs of muscle and looks like an ox out there. And is just a true freshman and coming off an ACL tear. He already has the look of an NFL DL. And hes very explosive and athletic. Hes like a DE in a DT body. Gonna be a great 1 for us.
He's not near a finished product, but I loved what I saw from him tonight and the future is really bright for him.

Is that sarcasm? I said when he talked him up he likely means the opposite. He's done this many times before. How can Miles be in almost his tenth year here and people not know how to read between the lines when he speaks? He's most likely saying that to protect him. He's a young player. Let him develop.
