What exactly was Rueben Randle complaining about?

I believe RR felt he didn't get enough opportunity here to show his talents. Believe his parents were also unhappy about this.
I realize we didn't have the best QB play around here but he had 53 catches for over 900 yards and 8 TDs last year. He was 3rd in the SEC in receiving yards.
In the SEC, this is about what you get as an elite receiver going up against good defenses. I'm not sure what he was expecting. Sure, our passing game took a hit the last few games of the season (we know why) but I really don't think Randle had any room to complain if you look at the season holistically. He certainly wasn't going to get more than this at Bama either. Moreover, he had every opportunity to better those stats next year with a true passing QB replacing the pitiful passing game.
I like Randle but I don't believe he was 100% reasonable in his expectations. If you want 1700 yard seasons and 14 TDs, the SEC may not be the right place for you.

what are you talking about?

I'm talking about the fact that he declared early because he felt he didn't get enough opportunity here.

Most of that came in the first 8 games of the season.

Probably because he got all that in about the first half the season.
Imagine if you double those numbers. He would have been off the charts and a first round lock.
Then throw in the fact the Miles threw in the towel for the biggest game in Randle's career.

He's probably drained from 3 years of bad QB play. Can you blame him?

Sure, but the mitigation plan was in place for next year. Whenever we did put the ball in the air, he was the prime target. I just don't feel like he had enough grounds to bail the way he did. He owed himself more if not the program.

That was evident when he basically blackmailed LSU into not offering a scholarship to the reciever who preceeded him in high school and ended up going to Auburn.

unless of course the coach decided he wants a shitty runner/shitty thrower at QB again because he has a man crush. Why would Randle want to risk it?

Fair point. But at worst he would still be where he is today (3rd/4th round kind of guy). With another 1000 yard type of season, he was looking at late first or second. It was a risk but one worth a few mil.

yeah rip the player, not the genius miles.maybe he didn't believe the plan for next year, considering he's been an edge blocker most of his career at lsu.i don't blame him at all and neither should anybody with a brain

I'm not ripping him. The guy obviously did what he thought was right for him and had every right to be pissed at the passing game late in the year. But its not like he had 400 receiving yards. He was the #3 receiver in the SEC. My point is he should have looked at the bigger picture.

How do you know he was pissed at anything? Maybe he felt like he had a good enough year to go high enough to get a certain amount of money his family needs.

Maybe he's gettng it from the fact that he left. Not hard to figure out.
