Mullen is more qualified then O. He has coordinator experience. O does not. They both took their first jobs in the same talent poor state of Mississippi, Mullen at the little brother school and O at the big brother school. Mullen inherited a dumpster fire. O followed a coach with a winning record. Both played in the SEC west. Mullen had six straight winning seasons and is about to go to his seventh straight bowl game. O was 10-25 and 3-21 in the SEC. Mullen is a spread expert. O wants to hire a spread expert. This comparison alone should be enough to shut up all these people asking "Well who else could we have gotten after Herman and Fisher?" Sure the sexiest options were no longer on the table but there were still better options out there nonetheless.

And who do you think recruited Dak ?
When was the last QB we had that was that good ?
We could have won a couple NCs with Dak

decent gameday coach, but Mullen can't recruit for shite...the Mike Archer era has made me forever skeptical about coaches like that.

Why would you post this? The search is over. Dan Mullen will never be the coach at LSU.

He took a never was Miss St team to ranked #1 last year.

Miles had LSU ranked #1 for a good portion of 2011 but couldn't cross the 50 against the Gumps in the rematch. Number 1 means jack squat during the regular season. It's only an estimate. And look where State finished up after having held that #1 ranking. That's not a good reason to want to hire a head coach.

I'm impressed he got them so good this year after all they lost. He would have been a very good hire.

I'd rather watch a Miles press confrence. Mullan is a fricking weirdo.

I think this is a terribly-worded post.

Apparently he's a terrible interview though. I mean, its insane he hasn't been hired away.

Heard from MS booster than he acts like a dick.....claims he's a northerner with an attitude.
I still think he can coach and develop QB's.

And what did that team do after that ranking and for the seasons to follow?
