I would love to see 5-0 finish but I expect to see a 3-2 result and would be pleased with a 4-1 result if the team plays well.

a lot depends on possible injuries.

what I want to see is the team play tough, keep improving and a very good recruiting class filling our needs (esp on both sides of the line). I truly believe we have the team nucleus and coaching staff to bring this team to the next level.

it appears we actually have a QB for the future and an OL that has some talent going forward. that, in addition to the defense, is something I have not seen in a handful of years or longer.

Obviously 5 - 7 is the floor and 10 - 2 is the ceiling (regular season):

Ole Miss - I think we win this game

Bama - It is what it is - crazier things have happened, but ...

Arky - I think we win this game (but they always get up for us - I think Tiger Stadium is the difference, particularly if we beat Ole Miss and are competitive with Bama)

Tennessee - I think we win this game

aTm - I think we win this game

Homerism is spreading like wildfire - hell, I've caught it -

I'm with you, 4-1 would be an excellent finish and set us up for likely a 1 Jan bowl game in FL.

Stay healthy, keep working/learning, AND KEEP WINNING!

Why the frick do you expect that???

We should go 4-1 down the stretch and finish 9-3. Period.

Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Tennessee are hot garbage with weak rosters that will all have new head coaches next year.

A loss in any of those games is a huge step backwards after we have seen what this team is capable of against a good team in Auburn. Stop the fricking excuses and get back to expecting LSU to win the games they are supposed to.

The difference between 8-4 and 9-3 is Texas A&M. Another team that we SHOULD beat that could also be firing their coach.

Unlike those other teams, however, A&M has a decent enough roster to match up with us. It wouldn't be quite the embarrassment that losing to one of the other three would be, but given that it is at home on Senior Day, with a huge difference in bowl game on the line, against a team that we have beaten six years in a row, losing that game would be a huge set back after this team and staff silenced a lot of critics against Auburn. No doubt about it. We've already lost two we shouldn't have. He doesn't get another.

9-3. Get there. No excuses.

Bama and A&M are the two toughest games left

Split those and you're 9-3 and going to the Cotton Bowl

I believe LSU will probably lose to Bama because our offensive line is such a mis/motch of different players due to injuries. Thus, I don't think they will ever gel into a good line. However, I do believe they will improve as the newbies continue to gain experience.

Also, we could lose the A&M game because their defense seems to be improving and their freshman QB is dangerous and could give us problems.

However, I believe we should win all the rest of them.

However, all bets are off should the injury bug strike again. When we had key players injured and not playing, because our depth is so piss poor thanks to O's predecessor, we got blown out by Moo State and loss to Troy. However, once those injured key players returned to playing again, we beat a top 20 team and a top 10 team in back to back weeks.

So I cross my fingers that the injury bug won't hit again, not only because I want LSU to be successful, but also because I don't want to see the gay coach O haters climb out of the woodwork to falsely accuse coach O and his coaching staff again of being incompetent and unfit to be at LSU.

Thus, I agree, 9 & 3 or 8 & 4 if we lose to A&M, which I don't see happening. Although all bets or off if the injury bug strikes again.

I expected this team to be 8-4 when the season started. I stil see the same finish or a 7-5 finish and will be very pleased with that result.
You just started 3 true freshman o lineman and beat auburn! We are getting Lagniappe if we get anything other than a 3-2 finish

Agreed.

Bama will likely eat our young oline & Aranda / D will fight yet they'll be worn out by late 3rd if the offense leaves 'em out there all day.

Big question is ATM..
Good talent-- and also, Sumlin is slowly sinking, like our uptown houses,
in which doors open / close differently depending on the marshy soil--

but still slowly sinking.

We're setting ourselves up for disappointment by expecting to only lose to Alabama.

This team is coming around but they're still young and another loss or two wouldn't surprise me. This is a weird year anyway and it's possible to win out or to lose out.

I'm just enjoying the ride. Under Les it had become predictable. We knew we'd play everyone tough, we'd get frustrated at the offense and clock management issues, and we'd probably get to November undefeated every year just to lose to Alabama and fall apart afterwards. This year, who the hell knows?

c'mon Voodoo. I gave no excuses.

love your enthusiasm. my expectations are not shallow nor are they "hopes and wishes". they are based on the teams roster, strengths and weaknesses, their schedule and the ups and downs of football in the SEC.

I was at 10-2 before the season with losses to Bama and Auburn. I did not account for Guice playing hurt most of the season, the OL injuries, the DL injuries and all the youth inserted on D.

Within 2 weeks we went form wondering if we would have a winning season to being back to favorites in all remaining games except Bama. 4-1 is expected, but I just hope we beat Ole Miss and go from there.

Keep developing, get healthy and no new injuries and we should be in good shape. If we can get to the bye without injuries and if Guice, Key and Lawrence get healthy we could give Bama a good game.

WTF does registration date have to do with anything? What, I've not posted on here for the ten plus years that some of you have so now we shouldn't post? Never mind the fact that I've been an LSU football fan since before the facking internet was even dreamed up and before most of the fans on here were even born.

I see a L in t-town and one more close one between ole miss and A&M. So 8-4 but finishing with a resounding bowl victory for 9-4.

Congrats to space cowboy on inventing mis/motch.

Thin on oline.
Must be fortunate for no more injuries and return of one or two older players.

And darn, coach o telling the world that Justin just practices running plays. Shaking my head watching that otherwise nice presser.

Based on all of that, not going 4-1 the rest if the way would be a failure.

and the ups and downs of SEC football

I sure wish so many of our fans had this realization under the previous head coach.

The problem is, O already got two get out of jail free cards with MSU and TROY ( not even SEC so let's just say the ups and downs of college football).

I'm saying go 4-1 and things are on track. You don't get to say that if we have ANOTHER let down against a team we should beat after the awful September we sat through.

The lessons should have been learned already. No more get a pass losses. If we lose another game besides Bama, this thing is just destined to always go off the rails and there will always be excuses.
