What do we know?

Long, but stick with me and give me your thoughts.
First off, 1-0 baby.
The Good
HUGE WIN. We just went on the road with a new quarterback and question marks on defense to take on a ranked opponent with clearly one of the best quarterbacks in college football. If you can't be happy with the win than you need to reconsider your football allegiance.
Run defense looks unreal, the havoc we wreaked in the backfield is something we haven't had since 2011. Tolliver and Key are going to be greats in the very near future. Beckwith stalking Dak was absolutely the difference between them establishing their run game like they were able to last year.
Leonards MF Fournette is the best back..scratch that.. player in college football. That kid was forced into 10 man fronts (much less a defensive line that is very..very good) for a majority of the game and was going over around and through them. Stay tuned, he is in for a hell of a year.
Harris has a gun, and made the right decisions all night long. I know he only got 14 opportunities but he made the correct read on all but one or two throws.
Open field tackling was some of the best I've seen in years. They were really squaring guys up and looked solid wrapping up.
The Bad
Holy toss dive that was the most exhausting game to watch. I cannot fathom the offensive philosophy behind our second half play calling. Given, I can understand Les not wanting Harris to turn the ball over trying to win the game, at some point you have to let him use the weapons around him.
Depth in the front seven is a little concerning. We were able to stifle the run so they got away from it late in the game, but I am concerned that teams with prolific rushing attacks could wear down that front late in the game.
Jamie Keehn. Not a whole lot to say here besides the fact that he was piss poor. I mean you've had all off season to get ready to..punt. Maybe he just isn't very good at all but I thought I recalled him being able to boom some in the past.
My Take
Like every year, this team has an absolutely sick amount of talent. What determines how far we will go won't be the offense or defense on their own. It is really going to come down to how the two complement each other. Tonight, the offense (and really just the play calling) totally left the defense out to dry. In my opinion our biggest weakness is our depth in the front seven. So if I'm Les, I'm trying to jump out on teams early and stay on them. This would force a team to get away from just cramming it up the middle, and give our guys a chance to pin their ears back and get after it. This was the first game, and there were a lot of mistakes that we didn't get to work out against McNeese. I think we'll see drastic improvement in the coming weeks, and call me crazy, but I think we'll actually wind up opening up the playbook some as the season goes on.
tl;dr..LSU stackeddd SEC fuuuuu

We need creative offense. If you want to put the ball in LF hands it is fine but do it in more creative ways than just tossing the ball against the stacked box.
