What blue blood football schools have the most overrated programs?

1. Texas is number 1 for me. They should be the most dominant school in the country but for some reason they can't put it together besides Vince Young.
2. Tennesse.
I dont think they will ever be able to recruit nationally as well as they used to. They arent a threat to win anything anymore.
3. Notre Dame
They have been mainly mediocre for awhile now. Take an elite super coach to make them a consistant power again.
4. Michigan
Ohio State will prevent Michigan from being contenders when they actually are good. Plus they have to recruit a lot nationally.
*probably swap MichigN and Tenn
LSU is fooling around with hires that doesn't think the type of program he inherited 2 different times were better than his own vision for the program.
Auburn is i dont know where. They are the type to have 2 losing seasons then win it all the next.
Bama, Ohio State are the cream of the cream of the top.
Then it's Florida, LSU, FSU, USC, Oklahoma are the next group ready to climb back into elite territory.
Clemson has to be consistant for a decade or so.
This is a fluid opinion. I went with a lot of variable like wins, titles, consistently winning over decades. Some new programs are flying to the top like Clemson, Washington. And current states of programs.
This is just a discussion of opinions. I'll be changing my few multiple times because I'm easily convinced. Curious to see what others think.

Michigan and Notre Dame are at the top of the list for sure.

Michigan got that Urban problem like LSU and Bama.
Bama has hurt LSU the worst and one more devastating game could be the knockout blow that drops us to the Mississippi schools level.

Michigan
Their only consensus national championship since WWII was in 1948. And their Rose Bowl record has been atrocious since the Nixon administration.
If 1997 hadn't happened, I think they'd be considered as nothing more than a college football relic outside of the Midwest.

Bama was the biggest threat to LSU, until Alleva hired O.
Now the entire SEC is a threat.

Blue blood for sure, but don't know if they are really overrated anymore. They dont seem to be romanticized like ND, Michigan or Texas since they joined the Big Ten.

I would add Miami to the overrated list.
Penn State is a blue blood with a bright future ahead of them. Franklin is an elite coaching talent.

USC
And then Norte Dame
Nobody takes Texas seriously except for its financial prowess

Exactly.
LSU is NOT a blue blood. At all.
LSU gets the opposite of blue blood treatment.

I've seen LSU rated 10-12 all time program rankings. I don't have the links, just off memory .

I agree. Was watching them the other day and thinking of how much money they have from extraordinarily wealthy alumni base, and they sit in a state full of talent, yet they suck so hard most of the time.
As someone once said on the OT, it's mind bottling.
