Perhaps 7-5 if we can drum A&M again. My pessimism on the hire may be clouding my reason.

Ok so an Orgeron led LSU team that beat A&M, Arky, Ole Piss and Missou and you have them with losses to both A&M and Arky next year. Yes your pessimism is rampant on Coach Oeaux.

I qualified my pessimism, no doubt. Also, I would not bet that he will beat all of the same teams again next year as there are no guarantees.

Doesn't change for me. I expected miles to go at least 10-2 or better. I hold the same expectation to CEO. but i think 9-3 is more realistic.

If 10 wins a season is only "not bad" and not something to "happy about", I wonder why only one SEC program has been able to average 10 wins a season for the last 11 yrs.?

BTW, it is LSU.

We lose a lot of impact players on defense and we play a lot of road games. 9-3 would be a good start for O as long as he builds on that.

I root for O to do well as doing so is good for LSU, but think objectively that his hire is a serious error that will ultimately set the program back further. I will be shocked if we do not walk off into the 90's college football abyss under his leadership.

I don't like the O hire either, but there is still a TON of talent that should be around next year.

LSU is 8-1 vs. Auburn in their last 9 games at Tiger Stadium. It's not as if AU crushed LSU this season, and if not for the S. Alabama game being lost, LSU would have the same record as AU. Is Sean White going to become a Heisman contender for them? The are going to have to replace so key peices of a good DL

A&M is losing their best defensive player. They will have to replace a Sr. QB. Also, LSU ran wild with O as HC AND without Fournette, Key, Beckwith, Dural AT A&M.

Can we sit here today and say Tenn. and Ark will be MUCH better next season? I can't.

Man, that is funny. Just about as funny as it is to expect that we will automatically beat the same teams we did this year.

Our program is as unstable as it has been in sometime. If you can't see that then......

LSU loses, Beckwith, Neal, White, etc. and you think we are automatically as good as we were this year. Oh, but all is well as we have Coach O....he is one of us.

We play in the SEC West with Bama on the road next year, cross division games both on the road against UF and Ten, and a respectable neutral site game. I'd love to see no more than two losses but considering what we're losing that's not reasonable.

Depends on OC hire, what type of offence we end up with, how it's implemented, how well the players under stand it and pick it up, QB play, etc. Good would be 10-2 to 9-3. Lots of variables.

We fired a coach who averaged 10 wins a season for 11 yrs. Now, 10 wins is an unrealistic expectation with a SR. QB, a outstanding RB, and a DC we paying almost 2 mil to keep? Haven't we been told continually that we have to best talent in the SEC outside of Bama and all we needed to excel is a new coach and a whiz at OC? So, what's the big deal getting 10 wins?

I agree, it should be 10 wins every year because of the talent alone... Alleva hired a recruiter, remember?.. talent shouldnt drop off.. ive said in the beginning he will win 10 games next year... now after that, i have my doubts..

and he better win 10 games next year or he may not make it to year 3...

"Given the schedule?" You think our schedule is soft?

BYU - at neutral site
at Florida
Auburn
at Ole Miss
at Alabama
Arky
at Tennessee
A&M

Not at all, if you read the original post I think Alleva screwed us because he was lazy and took the path of least resistance to pick the HC. I would rather have had Herman and my posts say that. And if not Herman or Fisher they needed to do a more thorough search imo.

Not at all, yes we are losing some impact players but so are A&M and Auburn. We dominated Arky, I don't see anything different next year at LSU with the talent on our team. We dominated A&M and they are losing their stud QB and Garrett along with the other DE. So yes I expect us to beat Arky and A&M and also Auburn, because they are losing key players in the front seven and we are playing them at home.
