Sorry for the early post

I feel like this is an eventuality. He is a young up and coming coach, played at LSU so he is likely to want to stay at him alma mater, but not at the cost of career advancement.

IDK stealing a play from Saban, in promoting Smart over Steele

I'm not sure how that would work, especially with next year being a crucial year for us. But with all the talent, there's really nowhere to go but up on that side of the ball. He could up his recruiting pitch even more. I wouldn't mind having him moved up to DC and Steele moved down to coach the LBs.

If O gets promoted then the Steele hire makes a lot more sense. Give O a year in the program to learn the players and recruits before he takes over and use Steele as a rental that will recruit well and basically be a stop gap between who Les actually wants. I really hope that happens.

Sure then we promote the water boy to DB coach.

Why would lsu need a position coach as coordinator? His only experience is that of DC of a HS. Not to mention LSUs secondary hasn't been that great under him.

This year, last 2 years we have been really good, even with a ton of talent not being on the field.

So you are saying O called the plays and not Monty Kiffin or Clancy Pendergast?

Because i don't believe that.

DCs are made by small schools not named LSU. You think the secondary is 'great' this year? this is a secondary completely full of themselves.

Did i say "great"? no. So why use quotation marks?

Thats being said there are a lot of things that can make a secondary looked confused beyond position coaching.

The DBs has been really good 2/3 years he has been here. Selective memory.
